Holy crap, how many users do you have? (checking your stats via /api/v1/stats on Invidious reveals that you have ~1000 users, meaning that my 20 TB of traffic would be enough for around 250 users. Oh god...)
It is generally advised to not host invidious with a provider that has less than 100TB traffic

@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.org* It is generally advised to not host invidious with a provider that has less than 100TB traffic ( with DASH enabled)12:48:46
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgMe, somewhere around 60 - 90 TB each month12:51:06
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.org Samantaz Fox: I think we should maybe add an advice to not use a provider with a low network limit (I.e. 20TB) the bottom of the new public instance rules (https://docs.invidious.io/instances/#rules-to-have-your-instance-in-this-list). 12:56:01
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgThere really isn't much sense in people first choosing a limited hoster and then having to migrate the whole thing somewhere else a few months down the road12:57:10
@alexpewmaster:nope.chatAlexPewMaster (moved to @alexpewmaster:reallyaweso.me)So this means that I'll be rejected? (https://github.com/iv-org/documentation/issues/531)12:56:43
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgDunno, your choice but I saw the topic come up quite a few times in the past weeks12:57:58
@nihilist:m.datura.networkNihilist OLD ACCOUNT !!!!Imo the selection/monitoring/ranking on public instances should be refined a bit. Score should include invidious service uptime (current), the uptime regarding YouTube blockage circumvention, and the response time 13:02:54

Not for that reason, no.
13:03:44
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgBut you will face problems when using DASH in a few months13:04:05
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgProblems = paying for each additional TB past your limit13:04:26

Because I can tell some public invidious instances are on VPSes by how slow they are lol13:04:36

You just wanna be on top 😆

@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.org* Not for that reason, no. (Can't say for sure, im not managing the instances)13:06:35

@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgI would honestly ditch the total users stat. "Active users last month" cumulated over the past 3 months would make for a much better stat imo13:07:45

There is nothing wrong with competition in my opinion. All instances want to be on top of course, but "racing" for the top means that every instance will improve in the process.

@nihilist:m.datura.networkNihilist OLD ACCOUNT !!!! Could also be indicative of which instance is overloaded and to tell users to go on the next best instance Weidenwiesel: 13:08:16
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgI agree with the response time, some sited are just maddening slow, for different reasons (including location)13:12:30
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgBut its probably impossible to provide a valid measurement for that13:13:30
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgExample: For US users, my instance in Ukraine may very well be much slower than for users in Germany 13:14:00
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org@weidenwiesel:matrix.orgWhich response time do you use now/13:14:12
