absidue | In reply to @weidenwiesel:matrix.org Heard that from the main maintainers, when I opened the github issue that they're still waiting for YT to finish their new comment structure I think you may have misunderstood, what they said is that you as an instance maintainer or Invidious can't do anything on your side to fix it. You have to wait for the Invidious devs to add support or you can always create a pull request to add support for the new structure yourself. | 15:10:37 |
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org | Nah they specifically wrote something about YouTube A/B testing but whatever won't argue over details | 15:11:31 |
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org | TLDR: not fixed yet | 15:11:40 |
absidue | In reply to @weidenwiesel:matrix.org Nah they specifically wrote something about YouTube A/B testing but whatever won't argue over details Yes, the new comment structure is a YouTube A/B test, but that doesn't mean it's not worth adding support for. | 15:12:09 |
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org | * TLDR: not fixed yet, wait for dev team to get started on this | 15:12:17 |
absidue | An A/B test means that YouTube will return the new stuff sometimes and other times the old stuff, they start with returning the new stuff only for a small percentage and increase that percentage over time before finally returning the new stuff all the time. The reason they do those tests is so that they can fix bugs and get user feedback, before rolling it out to everyone. | 15:18:19 |
@weidenwiesel:matrix.org | You're probably right, they are currently 9/10 times broken | 15:22:04 |
absidue | Glad your misunderstanding is cleared up then. | 15:25:37 |

AlexPewMaster (moved to @alexpewmaster:reallyaweso.me) | Hi, whenever I try to follow the steps at https://docs.invidious.io/ipv6-rotator/#if-you-are-running-invidious-in-docker , I get this in my logs:

TheFrenchGhosty | Are you sure the IP you use isn't blacklisted and/or has access to youtube com | 17:11:38 |
AlexPewMaster (moved to @alexpewmaster:reallyaweso.me) | I'm pretty sure that my IPv6 address is not blocked as it has never connected to youtube servers before. | 17:12:26 |
TheFrenchGhosty | "Never"? How can you be sure? Someone might have used it before | 17:13:06 |
AlexPewMaster (moved to @alexpewmaster:reallyaweso.me) | Also, I have the IPv6 rotator set up, so my IPv6 address should rotate every 12 hours. | 17:14:00 |
Samantaz Fox | Check if you have the proper network setup for docker, that you don't have dangling routes, the DNS works, etc... | 17:19:40 |
AlexPewMaster (moved to @alexpewmaster:reallyaweso.me) | In reply to @samantazfox:pussthecat.org Check if you have the proper network setup for docker, that you don't have dangling routes, the DNS works, etc... How can I check all of these? | 17:26:50 |
