(warning biased) I think however fluffychat would also work in that list as a Client. It has most of the basic Features and plenty advanced, full e2ee. Sure no Integration Manager and widgets. So that's kinda why I would like to See matrix instead Element in Such lists. For Client specific stuff you can easily link to the excelent table at matrix.org (hoping that still exists and I just cant find it?)
Hmm… you could file an issue on the GitHub of PrivacyTools and try to get FluffyChat listed on there if the devs want it to be listed

@compu-42:matrix.orgcompuhi all i might be writing a guide on how to make a portable synapse as in, a synapse hosted on your laptop, phone, pi or something, that you can take with you to other networks people on that network can then connect to your synapse17:51:26
@compu-42:matrix.orgcompuif i do that, i'll post it here17:51:32
@andrewm:amorgan.xyzanoaI did a workshop on that at cccamp 2019. The notes have been auto-deleted by their host at this point though :)18:33:34
@andrewm:amorgan.xyzanoaMain problem is you won't be able to get federation outside of your network working unless your device has a publicly routable ip18:34:26
@mtrnord:nordgedanken.devMTRNordisnt p2p going to be portable basicly?18:36:16

dyndns
18:37:28
@andrewm:amorgan.xyzanoayou'd still need to port forward18:37:54

isnt p2p going to be portable basicly?
yes, once we set up servers to translate between p2p nodes and federated nodes
18:38:14
@sorunome:sorunome.deSorunomesounds like lots of shipping potential18:38:15
@matthew:matrix.orgMatthewmy assumption is that we don't need to translate; you just have the federated servers talk p2p too.18:39:43

Not very good table IMO.. why is federated yellow instead of green
because p2p is better than federated. because p2p is actually distributed
18:57:24
@msavoritias:matrix.nomagic.ukmsavoritiasi am glad that matrix is working towards that too18:57:37
@sorunome:sorunome.deSorunomebetter is subjective here. distributed has lots of downsides like giving up anonymity, draining your battery, being unable to receive messages when you aren't online etc.18:59:01

yggdrasil shoud solve this someday
18:59:26
@sorunome:sorunome.deSorunomeideally a hybrid network with portable identities...that would be rad19:00:04

Once they sort out the issues, that take down the network

When you say portable identities, are talking about somehting like hubzilla/zot? (not the same objective, I know, but tha same idea)

Yup! I was talking in the far future. I see a lot of potential in that network.

no idea what they are doing. there is an msc for portable identities, basically identities become public keys and you can have multiple homeservers and multiple identities

They doing something different. Because they need to sync the user data (posts, photos). Matrix idea looks more reasonable for instant messaging. I didn't thought about that.

Matrix was in the German news today, see https://www.inforadio.de/nachrichten/ (grep messenger):

Freely translated: Berlin's privacy officer demands a messenger-service for authorities and schools. Matrix could be used for that. Transitionally Threema or Signal could be used by the senate. The IT state secretary notes that the project of implementing such a service has no priority and the lack of funding and resources.

According to my colleague, who mentioned it to me, the audio cast was more lengthy.
