jkonecny | not sure honestly | 22:58:27 |
jkonecny | I think both of the approaches are fine | 22:58:36 |
jkonecny | on one hand, having it more opinionated would give a better UX from the installation, on the other hand it might be harder to keep alive for us | 22:59:31 |

alebastr | It appears that we don't have power-profiles-daemon in the image. I thought we would get it from one of workstation base groups in fedora-common-ostree | 20:01:57 |

jkonecny | I wonder what is the consumer of these profiles for us. Is this working automatically? | 09:04:23 |
alebastr | In reply to @jkonecny:fedora.im I wonder what is the consumer of these profiles for us. Is this working automatically? In a limited sense - balanced profile is enabled automatically and applications can request a temporary performance boost via DBus API. But next release of waybar may have a module for switching the profiles. | 20:38:36 |
alebastr | https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/power-profiles-daemon/-/issues/79 :( | 20:44:15 |
jkonecny | Having Waybar to support this would be great. | 21:57:49 |
jkonecny | In any case, I'm not opposed to have this especially if the default profile would be improvement 🙂 | 21:58:20 |
jkonecny | even though the question is if people won't be unhappy that their machines are a bit slower or similar issues. If there is no visible way to control it, it might end up in people start thinking that Sway is just slow | 22:00:11 |

hiredman | anyone using wmenu with the -f (font) flag? I don't get any errors when I set it, but the rendering goes all wonky, but seems fine when I don't pass it | 22:17:02 |
hiredman | ah, figured it out, it takes the size differently than dmenu, or at least differently then I have been passing it to dmenu | 22:18:09 |
hiredman | wmenu takes something like 'Fira Mono 8' where I was passing 'Fira Mono-8' to dmenu | 22:19:28 |

alebastr | In reply to @kevin:downey.family does anyone know if there is a way to get wmenu to open on top of even fullscreen windows? No, it's not possible without modifying sources. | 00:27:08 |

I'm still not sure this should be added, sorry. Waybar config regularly changes and we'll have to track it and maintain our copy. I've just pushed a smaller config change to f39 testing: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/waybar/c/5e3a13d572ccfe55c837f5f9e74983cc3be61033?branch=rawhide, should solve most of the issues you reported. | 05:09:27 |
