Andrew Morgan (anoa) {he/him} [@ FOSDEM] | Hi everyone. Synapse 1.121.0 (and 1.121.1) have just been released.
1.121.1 is just a patch release to fix an issue building release docker images in our CI. As such, there is only a docker image for 1.121.1, not 1.121.0. 1.121.1 is otherwise functionally identical to 1.121.0.
1.121.0 introduces experimental support for a number of MSCs, as well as stabilises support for locking accounts. It also has bug fixes and limited initial support for returning information about suspended users via the Admin API.
Grab it while it's hot! π₯

Andrew Morgan (anoa) {he/him} [@ FOSDEM] | Does anyone know what https://github.com/orgs/matrix-org/packages/container/package/synapse-service is? | 11:10:12 |
Ricardo Duarte | So many actions still runing on that repo... π | 11:17:24 |
Andrew Morgan (anoa) {he/him} [@ FOSDEM] | which repo? this is a github package | 11:20:26 |
Ricardo Duarte | The old Synapse from matrix-org | 11:26:14 |
Ricardo Duarte | https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse/actions | 11:26:37 |
Andrew Morgan (anoa) {he/him} [@ FOSDEM] | Mm, you're thinking of https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse/pkgs/container/synapse I'm wondering what https://github.com/orgs/matrix-org/packages/container/package/synapse-service (note the -service ) is. | 11:27:07 |
Andrew Morgan (anoa) {he/him} [@ FOSDEM] | Also looking at https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse/actions, it doesn't look like any actions have been run for 8mo? The in-progress indications there look like a visual bug. If I try to cancel the workflows it fails. | 11:28:34 |
Ricardo Duarte | I did. I went to Synapse actions to see if there was a .yaml to build the -service package. That's when i noticed the actions still ongoing for 8months or so. Did not find where that synapse-service package comes from though. The version numbers match Synapse's but other than that, i really don't know where they come from, what built them.. etc | 11:30:35 |
Till | It's used by complement-crypto: https://github.com/matrix-org/complement-crypto/blob/bb8c128141f9fbf184c479a1bffd00f4b56f5026/.github/workflows/tests.yaml#L77-L79 | 11:34:07 |
Till | (and I think manually build?) | 11:35:06 |
Andrew Morgan (anoa) {he/him} [@ FOSDEM] | yeah, and also matrix-rust-sdk apparently.
(and I think manually build?)
perhaps so. just curious what's in it. I suppose I'll ask around
| 11:35:34 |
clokep | https://element-hq.github.io/synapse/latest/deprecation_policy.html says that Synapse follows upstream support versions, according to https://endoflife.date/postgresql this means Postgres 11 & 12 could be dropped... would this be accepted? π | 15:30:23 |

clokep | https://github.com/element-hq/synapse/pull/18034 hopefully. | 16:16:26 |

Devon Dmytro | Hey everyone. There will be no new Synapse Release Candidate this week.
With the end of the year approaching fast & people on the Synapse team taking various amounts of time off over the next couple weeks, we have decided to take a short break from the usual Synapse release schedule.
We will be picking back up on our regular Synapse release schedule the week of Jan 6, starting with a new RC. | 01:02:12 |
