.borts | * That reverse proxy is a new one to me (never heard of it, or referenced here in context of others using it)....is the RP running at the root of the IP/domain? ABS does not currently support being 'hosted' out of a subdirectory (e.g. yourabsserver.org/books) | 18:13:30 |
nyxholas | Are you using it as a forward proxy? If so, that doesn't work with apps (more info here) https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf-app/issues/1155#issuecomment-2031957539 | 18:15:48 |
mckirby | I could use some help. On my mobile app, every time I turn off the phone for it to play in the background, after a 1-5 minutes it will automatically stop playing and lose connection. However, if I keep the open with the screen on it works fine. The problem also continues to happen if I have another app open with it playing in the background. How may I fix this? | 18:19:48 |

nyxholas | If you reinstalled the server (and made a new user account for them or something), then the underlying user id would not match (doesn't matter whether the username is the same). It's recognizing it as from that server, so probably something with their user | 18:58:11 |
nyxholas | The "server identification" is by the URL, so if it's a completely new installation and they're accessing it from the same URL/IP, that could also do it | 18:58:36 |
nyxholas | If they haven't already deleted the local copy, they can look at "More info" and get the library item ID and make sure it matches what you expect (not sure if it will still say "linked" if the item ID doesn't actually exist on the server, it may only be checking the server URL) | 19:00:48 |

CyberSocialist | Wonderful book btw ❤️ | 06:18:14 |
fishbonehead44 | I have improvment Idea for the mobile App. Where do I post it? | 11:22:37 |
.borts | You would post an enhancement request here, but please search through the existing ones first to check if someone else has already requested your idea (and if so, add a thumbs-up 👍 emoji reaction, as that is how feature requests are generally sorted for prioritization) https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf-app/issues | 13:36:33 |

nyxholas | You can use Authentik (or similar) and use OIDC, you just can't do a forward proxy when you're using the apps | 00:42:07 |

nyxholas | * You can use Authentik (or similar) and use OIDC, you just can't do a forward proxy when you're using the apps without whitelisting everything | 00:44:17 |
.borts | the big win for me is that using authentik/authelia lets you get out of the business of managing user accounts/passwords/registration and adds the option of 2FA | 00:48:31 |
.borts | yeah, my only users are family in my house so passwords/registration were never real concerns for me, but I definitely wanted 2FA | 00:50:49 |
nyxholas | I'd recommend Cooptonian's videos, he has a lot of good ones for Authentik | 01:06:08 |
nyxholas | (and documentation too, but the general idea of "this is where this button is in the UI" was helpful for me with all of the new vocab when I set it up) | 01:06:50 |
itzexor | Anyone ever noticed that the client seems to Auto rewind even with auto rewind disabled in certain cases | 18:50:27 |
itzexor | Like when you pause and resume very quickly then it will replay like 5 seconds instead of continuing | 18:50:42 |
itzexor | This bug is probably why I hated Auto rewind in the first place | 18:50:52 |
itzexor | Auto rewind should never trigger without at least 30 seconds between pause and resume, but with abs if you pause and resume like 10 times it'll replay the same 5 seconds over and over (not queued but with each pause/resume) | 18:52:23 |
itzexor | There can also be a delay as it re-downloads or something so I can cause you to pause and play it multiple times intending only to do it once and that seems to make it jump back even further, or just trigger the bug in the first place if you hit pause play too many times | 18:53:22 |
advplyr | Auto rewind is configured so that no seekback will happen if the pause is less than 10 seconds. I'm not able to reproduce this issue can you give more specific reproduction steps? | 21:27:07 |
itzexor | It always happens with Bluetooth headphones so maybe it's bt doing it idk | 21:28:02 |
itzexor | The only reason I run into it so often is because like I'll pull the earbud out and put it back in immediately just to reposition it but the insertion detection will pause and unpause it quickly, that kind of situation is when it happens | 21:28:51 |
itzexor | It has to be quickly paused and unpaused, or done multiple times in rapid succession | 21:29:21 |
nyxholas | 10 seconds of wall or book time? (if listening sped up) | 21:30:36 |
