shreyasbapat | Ooohπ. Good Morning @astrojuanlu:matrix.org | 06:20:51 |

wilselwood | astrojuanlu: I hope you don't mind but I added an issue to that awesome-space repo asking if they wanted a section for astrodynamics software like poliastro | 07:52:25 |

astrojuanlu | thanks wilselwood ! of course I don't mind, thanks a lot for suggesting it :) | 07:57:32 |
astrojuanlu | Andrew Cantino shared it yesterday in the SGAC Slack workspace, you were faster than me :) | 07:58:54 |
wilselwood | sent them a pr to add the MPC to it too, will see how responsive they are... | 07:59:27 |

astrojuanlu | hi everyone! JupyterLab 1.0.0rc0 is available | 09:13:24 |
astrojuanlu |
Since JupyterLab 0.32 (February 2018), the releases of JupyterLab are suitable for general daily use by both Jupter novices and users experienced with the Classic Notebook interface. As of the 1.0 release (June 2019), it is additionally ready for extension writers who wish to further customize the JupyterLab experience for others.

astrojuanlu | for those interested, I uploaded an experiment to rewrite poliastro algorithms to use canonical units https://github.com/poliastro/poliastro/pull/708 will probably continue it after the 0.13 release | 15:14:11 |
23 Jun 2019 |
astrojuanlu | I kickstarted another repository to validate poliastro against several external sources. amsuhane and gorgi_astro already started making pull requests to poliastro, but it was a bit early and I had to still dedicate more time to think about a proper setup. it's in its early stages but here it goes https://github.com/poliastro/validation | 12:01:10 |
| @michiboo:matrix.org left the room. | 13:15:27 |
astrojuanlu | and also I fulfilled one of my dreams which was having pytest automating the generation of tolerance checks https://github.com/Juanlu001/pytest-tolerance it still lacks some crucial features but I'm happy it only took less than 4 hours to have something up and running! | 17:18:18 |
24 Jun 2019 |
wilselwood | Nice to see the validation tree is growing! | 07:37:46 |
wilselwood | They added poliastro to the awesome space repo over the weekend. Its in the mission design section: https://github.com/orbitalindex/awesome-space#mission-design | 08:15:08 |
juanluastro | Excellent! π | 10:14:58 |
astrojuanlu | discovery of the day! https://gitlab.com/souvlaki/thalassa these guys are from my alma mater, I'm so happy they shared the code. jorgepiloto the license is MIT, perhaps we can learn something useful from it | 13:45:56 |
astrojuanlu | I published czml3 0.1.1 Chatziargyriou Eleftheria π | 14:26:35 |
Chatziargyriou Eleftheria | πππ | 14:37:01 |
astrojuanlu | ...I meant, 0.1.2 π | 15:19:08 |
astrojuanlu | thanks for the additions! | 15:19:16 |
Chatziargyriou Eleftheria | ππ I tested and it works now, so I hope we won't need to bump it any time soon | 16:05:44 |
jorgepiloto | Wow, really interesting! I am going to take a closer view to the repo, did not know about Thalassa before. | 16:27:15 |
jorgepiloto | Awesome! I have never worked with Fortran but it looks very accurate including all those atmospheric models and perturbations. I need to check it in deep | 16:38:27 |
25 Jun 2019 |
astrojuanlu | good morning! jorgepiloto Chatziargyriou Eleftheria what are you up to today? | 06:19:30 |
astrojuanlu | I have to meet a couple of deadlines today but I'll be around for questions - I have to compensate that I spent most of the weekend in poliastro hehe | 06:19:57 |
jorgepiloto | Hi team! I am planning to update the Florence notebook and upload a Multirevolution Lambert example ππΌπ | 07:18:46 |
jorgepiloto | Hey team, I finally implemented in a raw gist a new kepler solver. Although working fine with general orbits, it gets stucked with the vectors in the #474 issue. It looks like the bug is located at the nu_to_M so I will further inspec that function π | 14:43:46 |
