Sometimes I don't see them (the features) either, my mind always looking for ghosts/bugs (in both forest & AM debug)

Both GitHub and Google Play aren’t safe from the possibility of introducing new malware at a later update. IzzyOnDroid, on the other hand, has a better way to handle such issues, though I believe it needs more improvements and transparency (we, for example, do not know how it ensures the APKs downloaded from GitHub are indeed from GitHub). All in all, IzzyOnDroid is the best way to download APK files right now. If the app is available on F-Droid official, only the reproducible builds maybe trusted (but, unfortunately, there’s no way to distinguish between them).

F-Droid vs Izzy repo

One way to ensure whether the correct APK files are downloaded is by implementing SSL pinning for the GitHub servers or by IP address validation (GitHub lists all its IP addresses in their docs). Signature verification works only if the last APK is malicious. What if all APKs were malicious, or if it’s a new app?
Looks like they do check certificate pinning.

@teardrops12:matrix.orgteardrops12Hello. Good afternoon. I have issue with dex optimization on latest AM Debug. When I press an application for dex optimization, it will be stuck forever on loading and no action, but works fine in A11 - A13. I'm not sure how to get the log because it's just stuck on loading and doesn't crash... Device info: LineageOS 21, Android 14 (QPR2 April SP)05:47:34

@zafrkant:matrix.orgzafrkantHello, Thanks developer for great contribution to the community. I would like to ask why I cannot dispute 'Coarse_location' Permission in App Ops for regular application, I'm getting 'Could not change the app op mode' As well as it there a possibility to set automatic recovery option for App Ops as there is on Rikka's app? Thank you in advance22:05:21

Did it work with v3.x? I was under the impression that modern Android doesn't allow for downgrading? Not sure really.

Confusion about RC

https://github.com/amcommunity/TipsAndTricks/issues/17

> The users should expect no major issues with the new or existing features. RCs are feature-locked, that is, each RC only receives bug fixes.

"only" should be replaced with "mostly" otherwise it creates confusion. My understanding is Alpha, Beta are for testers & before implementing new features to Stable, it goes through the phase of RC. So by definition RC does include new features.

OR remove the word "new" i.e. bug fixes only for RC & new features included only in Stable, in that case it contradicts the definition of Stable.

Good for day to day use and for those who do not want to see new features

@shuvashish76:matrix.org§ F-Droid users should be able to view all changes vs the previous one since they're compared vs previous Stable release only not with any pre-release. You might see new features in Stable but by definition they're actually not new because already tested for RC. 01:58:19
