Sami Olmari | Sorry for stoopid questions, but first time need for me and researching beforehand:
is it possible to bridge "new" telegram.. uhm.. "subchannels"? I'd expect same way as any, dig up chat ID, invite bot on sides, so on... | 21:29:04 |
Sami Olmari | +? | 21:54:45 |
Sami Olmari | https://github.com/mautrix/telegram/issues/865 apparently not | 22:05:12 |
Sami Olmari | Any idea what would happen if I bridge the whatever chat ID the telegram room has? | 22:07:48 |
Sami Olmari | anyone tested? :D | 22:07:57 |
Sami Olmari | ..something is in the ticket too :) | 22:10:09 |

Sati ζθ | Not hosting the bridge my own server, but plan to sync telegram and matrix, hosted on matrix.org, accessed via schildi.chat. | 14:31:31 |
Sati ζθ | How should I go about with this? | 14:31:51 |

tulir | yes, the sentences after that explain the alternative | 14:33:57 |
Sati ζθ | Ah... I was looking at the one for element.io - schildi was a fork of the element project. They offered the bot only on their subscription scheme. | 14:38:08 |
tulir | schildichat is a client, nothing to do with server-side things like bridges | 14:38:26 |
tulir | element clients also aren't directly linked to EMS (which is a hosting provider), they're just different products made by the same companyt | 14:38:58 |

issue
#424: No bot bridging M->T after network outage:
I found out that it was enough to remove all the contents of telethon_sessions table, the bot reauthenticated and it works fine now.

According to this, if I bridge TG chat that has "topics" into matrix room, peoples in matrix side will still get everything said, just no "context" of under what topic anything is said, am I reading that right?
| 19:31:40 |
Sami Olmari | and in that way stuff works and nothing breaks catastrophically | 19:32:13 |
tulir | yes | 19:39:41 |
