@_discord_976188744577204345:t2bot.ioTelescopic#0011 Nice work. You're designing the kind of thing I often do, and reading your code is helping me understand CQ. 20:14:33
@_discord_976188744577204345:t2bot.ioTelescopic#0011 Heatset inserts are great, but if you're inserting them freehand with a soldering iron you're not going to get really accurate placement (DAMHIKT). Without going to inserts, the design could be made longer lasting if the guide hole were longer. And when it wears out, print another one! 20:20:23

@_discord_944119318554243094:t2bot.iosethfischer#4882 Thanks! I'm just a CQ beginner. Many people on this server have helped me get started. So thanks to everyone! 21:35:47

@_discord_896482168103125002:t2bot.ioRoger Maitland#7070 Did you used threadedHole for the nut? 13:09:00
@_discord_944119318554243094:t2bot.iosethfischer#4882 I did: .threadedHole(screw, part_thickness, counterSunk=False). One gotcha was I initially set part_thickness to the part thickness + a margin to to ensure the hole went all the way through. But this resulted in CQ editor not being able to render the part even with a deviation of 0.1. The solution was to set part_thickness == actual part thickness. 21:50:50

@_discord_399898718817484812:t2bot.ioAntti Tuominen I also have this nagging thought in the back of my head, "don't trust computing with floats to be accurate", but OCCT seems to like it better that way. 21:22:38
@_discord_896482168103125002:t2bot.ioRoger Maitland#7070 That whole thickness thing seems very weird to me. The threadedHole method makes a hole in the part then unions thread into it. Hard to imagine where this could go so wrong but I'm sure there is a reason if one looks hard enough. 22:25:02
