@cartern:matrix.orgcarternI installed it with "pip3 install poliastro" on mac18:10:04
@cartern:matrix.orgcarternCan this be a Mac issue? The reason I was trying is because my boss was having trouble running poliastro on Mac. I tried running the same code in Deepnote which is hosted on a Linux server and everything worked well, no crashes.20:11:28
@astrojuanlu:matrix.orgastrojuanluinteresting. yeah could definitely be a matplotlib installation issue20:27:13

@jorgepiloto:matrix.orgjorgepilotoHello everyone, It's with a tinge of sadness that I share the news of my decision to take a step back from the ongoing development of poliastro. This choice is rooted in professional considerations, coupled with the fact that I've embarked on a new journey pursuing an MSc in Astronomy and Astrophysics. As a result, the demands of this endeavor have left me with limited time to dedicate to my side projects. I've taken the time to pen down a brief "farewell" message, which you can find at https://www.poliastro.space/blog/2023/08/22/jorge-martinez-steps-down/. The journey we've had together has been nothing short of incredible. I hold onto the hope that you will continue to harness the full potential of poliastro's capabilities moving forward. Thank you all for the wonderful moments we've shared, Jorge Martinez19:23:28
@astrojuanlu:matrix.orgastrojuanlu A million thanks jorgepiloto 💗 it was amazing while it lasted. Working with you was the absolute best part of creating poliastro. You've grown tremendously as a developer and I'm proud I contributed a bit to that. Sending a big hug 19:34:47

@aeropython:matrix.orgAnshuman GoculdasI hope it's still possible to ask a few questions, given the archival? 12:55:22
@aeropython:matrix.orgAnshuman Goculdasfor the eclipse event, I see in the documentation that you can find when the satellite enters eclipse13:37:36
@aeropython:matrix.orgAnshuman GoculdasWould it be possible to find when it exits?13:37:50

@isbarak:matrix.orgisbarakpl = OrbitPlotter3D() pl.set_attractor(Earth) pl.plot_ephem(sat_ephem, color="#333", label="POPACS1", trail=True) pl.set_view(30 * u.deg, 260 * u.deg, distance=3 * u.km) pl.show()16:18:23
@isbarak:matrix.orgisbarakthanks16:18:31
@isbarak:matrix.orgisbarakplot window does not open16:20:18
@isbarak:matrix.orgisbarakNote: I am running it as script, not as notebook. 16:37:26

@redsharpbyte:matrix.orgRedIs the indentation an element artifact? The notebook is the provider of the graphical interface. It would persist graphical plots. use savefig and view them with your favorite file browser/image viewer. 09:32:25

Thanks Red. It seems that for scripting I need to use static plotting: poliastro.plotting.static
