First thing I always do is get some heat sinks and overclock.

@sudo-dax:matrix.orgsudo-dax zombieslot: put kali linux on it and turn it into hotspot so you can plug it into any network and have mad tools on there 00:37:08

Anyway, Linux-only programs that won't work on BSD... aren't really a thing. POSIX-only apps... also not really a thing. Modern toolchains are incredibly powerful. God I love MinGW; it lets me write code for *nix, then say "yeah, uhh, we support Windows too" so Windows users can use my code on their shitty systems
It's not really Windows compatible just because you can run it with POSIX compatibility layers.

Examples of common cross-platform codebases include: GPG, Apache2, Filezilla, Chromium, Firefox, various email clients, Nheko (the Matrix client), KeePassXC, VLC, and CPython
Examples of POSIX / Linux only programs: almost every X11 / Wayland window manager, almost every popular terminal emulator (except the rust ones), almost every popular package manager, GNU coreutils, Redis, mpd, dmenu, htop, every program that's a shell script (e.g. pass) and systemd.

@minji:monero.socialminjiRunning them with POSIX compatibility layers is no different from running MS Office with Wine.01:11:52

@la_femme_jenny:matrix.orgla_femme_jenny:-] any1 have a nice terminal emulator suggestion ? i don't like x-term or rxvt. ideally one that doesn't want to invoke the dbus stuff upon loading02:17:51

@purolet_thepsuedopro:fairydust.spacepurolet_thepsuedoprost-flexipatch exists incase you get a headache patching ST02:24:55
@la_femme_jenny:matrix.orgla_femme_jennyooo this is nice, i'm going to check my config header to see what its compiled and maybe use flexipatch to change it how i want it :D02:31:11
@nerdyanarchist:matrix.orgNerdy Anarchisthonestly, patching it manually isn't difficult...if I can do it, anyone can02:33:48
@purolet_thepsuedopro:fairydust.spacepurolet_thepsuedopropatching shouldn't be hard, but it's nice to have options02:43:42

@the_proxster:midov.plTechlar But it's been deprecated and the owner recommends switching to alacritty instead, I just haven't. 03:04:22
@strobilus:nitro.chatstrobilus la_femme_jenny: if you know how to configure it, I recommend "st" by Suckless 03:04:41
