Insults are not welcome. Civility is a very low bar and not difficult at all. Your deliberate intimidation is clearly defined as harassment in the https://matrix.org/legal/code-of-conduct

@vbits:matrix.orgvbits.esHi, someone can tell me what can and not can do with LXC and with VMs yes? I find only things like in LXC only Linux SO and for tun connections (like openvpn) doesnt work but in a forum I found a post that seems like solved this problem19:21:48

There isn't much you can't do in an LXC container, if that container is started as -c security.privileged and has the apparopriate linux devices mounted in. Networking is tricky because connecting to a container from the external network requires one of a few strategies:

  • creating a port device on the host bound to a port inside the container
  • using nfstables/iptables rules to forward packets from a host interface to a container bridge/interface
  • dedicating an entire host interface to a container, and putting it on the network

@coleman:de.limitedcolemanI'm not aware of any restrictions on tunnel devices, but I've never tried to run openvpn17:00:48

@vbits:matrix.orgvbits.es ok thanks coleman , nice to know. I will use only LXC then. 95% of my VMs are Debian 10:31:41
@coleman:de.limitedcolemanI'd like to set up a kubernetes lab with a couple of vagrant boxes running an lxd cluster23:58:54
@coleman:de.limitedcolemanhas anyone had success running k8s inside of lxd containers?23:59:16

@coleman:de.limitedcolemanA related forum post is here https://discuss.linuxcontainers.org/t/kubernetes-cluster-doesnt-start-properly-in-lxd-unless-lxc-cgroup-devices-allow-a/1006011:44:39
@coleman:de.limitedcolemanAnother blog post about deploying K8s on LXD here https://sleeplessbeastie.eu/2020/10/07/how-to-install-kubernetes-on-lxd/17:11:46
@adamcstephens:matrix.orgadamcstephens I’ve spun up k3s inside an lxd container, but it has been a while. At this point I just use the VM type instead since it eliminates all the problems with trying to nest containers. 21:13:12
