The opposite point would be, maybe the user realizes the video he's about to open takes too long and is using a lot of his bandwidth so he closes it in the hope to cancel it. I can imagine both scenarios and I was expecting this one but I totally see your point.
Perhaps the loading can be done but in that case with some form of progress bar in the bottom right corner if the user closes the video, similar to how the upload progress is shown? Which could be cancelled by the user if he so wishes? | 15:23:41 |
