@shambu2k:matrix.orgSidharth ShambuIs there any other way I can pay for this ebook? My Indian card does not seem to be supported, even paypal fails..20:47:54
@artur.librecube:matrix.orgArtur ScholzDon't know why it wouldn't work. On the other hand, you can download the book for free (via leanpub or the gitlab link). 20:53:12

@novemberwiskey:matrix.orgnovemberwiskey Hi, Artur Scholz asked TUDSaT to make a quick mockup of a 1U CubeSat strucute where the pcb tack can be pushed in as a whole and then be secured with a plate. I created something to illustrate the idea: https://gitlab.com/librecube/prototypes/system-1u-structure (dev branch) 21:08:35

Yes of course :) The first two are the "final" versions. The other two were based on an earlier structure. Please note that there are some issiues with the size of the rails and the pcb spacers sould point in the other direction

@pierros_x:matrix.orgpierrosCan you post a detail on the side rails vs the pcbs? 08:40:45

@novemberwiskey:matrix.orgnovemberwiskeyI took the approach from the original OpenSCAD design where cutouts are made into the rails, but i designed it symmertrical to simplify the model. They must be adapted in some later version 08:51:52

@pierros_x:matrix.orgpierros novemberwiskey: keep in mind that inner 3-surface corners are not machinable. Also where would you account for the deployment switches? 07:38:50

Thanks for the feedback :) I just took the OpenSCAD version and copied it to show the idea, i did not think much about the manufacturing process. The same goes for the switches, again the model is just for illustrating the idea.

@artur.librecube:matrix.orgArtur ScholzGood! The direction is right. Of course iterations are needed to make it manufacturable. Or at least to 3D print it.09:33:56

@artur.librecube:matrix.orgArtur Scholz novemberwiskey: What version of FreeCAD you used? I have 0.19 and it's giving me warnings that recomputation is needed. 20:23:31

@artur.librecube:matrix.orgArtur ScholzNevermind. I upgraded to 0.19.2 and that works20:39:23
@artur.librecube:matrix.orgArtur ScholzYou should upgrade, too! 0.18 is stone age :)20:39:41

i did on my tower, bus used my laptop for that model :)

@artur.librecube:matrix.orgArtur Scholz I added in folder docs/references the designs of a 2U and 1U CubeSat structure. Hope that can serve as inspiration. 20:44:59
