Sorry to bother everyone with a complete newbie question. I'm trying to get a build environment up and running on a clean install of Centos 7 following the instructions in Section 5 @ readthedocs.io (I did the docker install in a separate VM and was able to test that it's installed and running in a different VM using the Iroha CLI utility.

The install the dependency instructions for building Iroha on Linux at this link don't seem to work and there are syntax errors in the build_iroha_deps.sh script. "-C" is not valid an argument for Git. https://iroha.readthedocs.io/en/main/build/index.html#linux-pre

Line 8 in iroha/vcpkg/build_iroha_deps.sh also throws a Git error about not being a git repository:
git -c $vcpkg_path checkout $(cat "$iroha_vcpkg_path"/VCPKG_COMMIT_SHA)

Error is:
fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git

What's the easiest way to fix these issues?

Would you like to build iroha or use prepaired docker image?

Building is not trivial and requires a lot of space and staff

git -C C is big letter

must be big letter, (I mean)

I would like to build Iroha from source.

Big Letter C throws an error. It's not a valid argument for the version of Git on Centos 7

Space and processor horsepower is not an issue. I'm doing this on a dedicated server with 512GB of RAM and a 16 core Xeon server.

@sorabot-5aaab865d73408ce4f919651:gitter.imsorabot (sorabot) Mark Smith via telegram
maybe I should just throw together an Ubuntu VM and see if the instructions and scripts work there?

That would be an easier solution. Maybe not even a VM, but a container

Thanks for the help. I gave up on trying to build on Centos and switched to Ubuntu 20. I had no problems setting up the build environment on Ubuntu. Was able to compile everything properly. Someday I'll go back and figure out what the incompatibilities are in dependencies when on Centos/RHEL.

I decided to open a test account on MVU Cloud Mining on Apr 1, 2021, and invested $16 to purchase ETH hashrate of 150 MH/s and three days later I got a return of about $24.4. Except the cost of the package and handling fee, I earned about $8 this account. If I sign up 100 new account, I can earn $800 in 3 days!!!

@baziorek-5ea0a271d73408ce4fe1607c:gitter.imbaziorek (baziorek) For me it is OK.
BTW: I need to ask You - could You please merge changes from @lebdron https://github.com/hyperledger/iroha/pull/864#pullrequestreview-615927884 before June? Because I would like to complete documentation how to build iroha on RPI for branch 1.2.x before the summer internship starts.

Hello there,
I'm new to Iroha and trying to use Burrow with it to create smart contracts using the iroha-helpers package (nodejs).
Therefore, I built iroha-burrow following the docs (setting the USE_BURROW flag to on) and I'm now trying to use the callEngine command to create a solidity smart contract.
My issue is that i'm recieving a STATELESS_VALIDATION_FAILED error for my query without futher details and I'm not finding what's wrong. 🤔
Every other commands & queries that I make using the same patern seems to work just fine and this one is based on the doc examples as well.
My code is the following, with bytecode being a string containing the bytecode of the Coin contract given as an example in the doc ("608060405...030033") :

callEngine(caller = "admin@test", input = this.bytecode) {
	return commands.callEngine(this.commandOptions, {
		caller: caller,
		input: input
	});
}
