Paddi ⚡️ | This channel & the "Archive" are the only two channels that get shown to me in the "Space home" search - to view other channels I have to search via "Explore rooms".
Is that just how things work with Matrix spaces? ||It just seemd weird to me, that's why I ask|| | 16:18:35 |

Otto Richter | codeberg.org/fnetX | Hi all, it looks like some of the relations between messages are getting lost through the bridge. Messages seem to not make any sense, but then I realize people reply to conversations that happened some time ago in the chat history (days, weeks). I just want to confirm if my assumption about this is right and messages look better over at Discord, so I can get used to this, or if it's me not understanding the context. | 22:50:25 |
Otto Richter | codeberg.org/fnetX | I also want to know if my responses to these messages also appear in a different order over at Discord, so that I can always include the context in the message and make sure it still makes sense even if it is not visible whom I reply to. | 22:51:07 |
Timo ⚡️ | Yes unfortunately replies/thread are not bridged, I don't know if I can update the bridge or if there is anything else I can do | 22:51:22 |
Otto Richter | codeberg.org/fnetX | Hmm okay. So I'll probably try to prepend the context to make sure people can follow me. | 22:53:46 |
Otto Richter | codeberg.org/fnetX | (Another cool thing would be if it was possible to follow discord references. Many people just send refences to other channels or specific messages or whatever in the form of a discord link which I cannot access, but I suppose this is even more complicated) | 22:54:30 |
Timo ⚡️ | In reply to @otto_richter:matrix.tu-berlin.de Hmm okay. So I'll probably try to prepend the context to make sure people can follow me. If you reply to a message, that should be bridge properly | 22:55:58 |
Timo ⚡️ | Yeah the bridge is not that great unfortunately | 22:56:08 |
Timo ⚡️ | Someone should check if we another bridge has more features by now | 22:56:20 |
Otto Richter | codeberg.org/fnetX | which one are you using at the moment? | 22:56:30 |
Timo ⚡️ | https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-appservice-discord (but I haven't updated it in a while) | 22:57:12 |
