@TimSmall:matrix.orgTimSmallAny overview documentation for how Riot integrates webRTC (e.g. does it always use Jitsi, or doesn't for 2 person convs?).17:01:03
@hubert:uhoreg.cauhoregIt uses https://matrix.org/docs/spec/client_server/r0.6.0#voice-over-ip for one-on-one rooms, and jitsi for conference calls17:06:36
@TimSmall:matrix.orgTimSmall uhoreg: Thanks - not being very familiar with WebRTC, will the non-jitsi one-on-one room option attempt to set up direct P2P for the calls if that's possible (in the same way as jitsi attempts to for 2-party calls)? 17:09:45
@florian:wolkenplanet.de@florian:wolkenplanet.de TimSmall: the non-jitsi one-on-one room option is actually P2P only, apart from NAT & firewall traversal efforts. 17:11:07
@TimSmall:matrix.orgTimSmall Florian: OK, good to know thanks - so the weird latency issues between machines on the same LAN I'm seeing should be purely down to client media handling bugs! 17:13:06
@florian:wolkenplanet.de@florian:wolkenplanet.de TimSmall: still, verifying that they talk directly to each other would make sense I guess, e.g. with wireshark, and viewing the used IP address & port candidates from the call invitation event by using Riot's “Show Sourcecode” option on those. 17:16:00
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijsI think you should be able to tell if a turn relay is used by looking at the console log18:22:55
