@akashniral:matrix.orgAkash GuptaHi - Did you compile after doing git checkout to danos/2012 build or danos/2005 11:33:29
@akashniral:matrix.orgAkash Gupta
In reply to @jammy:matrix.org
Akash Gupta: I just took a completely clean Debian 10 VM, followed the instructions exactly (except for changing the repo URL to the 2009 one), and it's worked fine

@akashniral:matrix.orgAkash Gupta * Hi - Did you compile after doing git checkout to danos/2012 build or danos/2005 11:33:57
@akashniral:matrix.orgAkash GuptaCurrently I am trying to build for Danos 2012 and I am getting the same error. However, the build is successful for Danos/2005 tag11:36:07
@jammy:matrix.orgjammyI did it against the danos/2009 tag11:45:05
@jammy:matrix.orgjammyIf you want to do 2012, you need to use the correct sources.list line for 2012, and you need to use another clean VM.11:45:38
@jammy:matrix.orgjammyWe can't guarantee that packages will "upgrade" correctly between different releases, even on a build machine11:46:04

Thanks! The compilation was successful after using another clean VM.

@pimvanpelt:matrix.orgpimvanpeltIs there any word on the first 2021 release ? I'm about to deploy three routers far away from me, and although they have IPMI, I would love to ship -latest as it has a few fixes I submitted11:23:47
@pimvanpelt:matrix.orgpimvanpelt scott-leishman: you may be able to hint at a date :) 11:24:03

@nickbroon:matrix.orgNick Brown Just reading the latest Ntop blog: https://www.ntop.org/nprobe/introducing-nprobe-ips-10-gbit-ndpi-based-traffic-policer-and-shaper-opnsense-pfsense/
I read that Nprobe, operating in it's new IPS policy mode (basically a sort of policy firewall), using NDPI, can achieve 600Mbps while doing DPI policies on a APU2. I know that DANOS Firewall also makes use of NDPI, and I wonder how it compares to this new Nprobe IPS mode? Perhaps of interest to you pjaitken and jammy

@cdieckhoff:wdz.decdieckhoffHi Everyone! I just discovered DANOS and starting to look at it on our S9500-30XS Box - have there been thoughts about EVPN-VXLAN within the project?12:18:18
@mike:matrix.targo.caMichel BlaisThe X86 features set is really impressive but on hardware platform, based on my test (I could be wrong), the're still few features support and I doubt S9500-30XS support VXLAN. I bough 5916XKS and tryed DANOS community on it and the only features that seems currently supported on hardware platforms is VLAN (no QinQ), VLAN intafaces and dynamic routing. The commercial (vyatta) edition seems to have more features on those hardware.13:23:15
@srinivaskn:matrix.orgsrinivasknthere is no support for VXLAN in hardware yet13:24:24

@srinivaskn:matrix.orgsrinivasknthere have been thoughts about EVPN, VXLAN etc - but it will take a while13:25:05
@srinivaskn:matrix.orgsrinivasknwe are a small team :)13:25:42
@cdieckhoff:wdz.decdieckhoffAlright, if we can somehow contribute let us know - we have an extensive hw lab and already made a lot of vxlan stuff done in the past14:07:11
@srinivaskn:matrix.orgsrinivasknThat's great! Thanks - could you let us know more about your use-case and the features you are looking for? If you can file a jira with your questions & feature requests, we can use that as input in planning15:18:56
@cdieckhoff:wdz.decdieckhoff Yes, for sure!
I'll create a jira for that.
We're mainly looking for replacing a old MPLS Network with something based on EVPN-VxLAN.
