#1 PowerShell Fan (on Windows) | lol | 14:29:24 |
fibby | But generally if we want to bash France I'm all for it. Don't get me wrong. | 14:30:52 |
Valynor | they said France has some extra test that the other countries don't do that way. all new devices have to pass these tests before they can enter the market so it's more than a bit weird that no other EU country found an issue with the iPhone 12 | 14:32:36 |
fibby | As far as I understood that particular bit, France is the only country that bothered to re-test the device after a few years with an updated iOS. And the SAR values for iOS 16.x were higher than the original firmware. | 14:33:29 |
fibby | No I meant we can make fun of their silly hats or long baguettes. | 14:34:10 |
fibby | Or bread that tastes like candy. | 14:34:32 |
ninchuka | In reply to @fria:bark.lgbt ban everyone ACL all matrix HS's | 14:36:01 |
fibby | They are also the only country that doesn't understand bit/byte so they call them octets or something like that. | 14:36:08 |
fibby | Even though there are computer systems that don't work with 8-bit words. What do they do then in their language? | 14:36:40 |
fibby | Sorry, ordinateur-systems. | 14:36:53 |
kdebacon | In reply to @fibby:fyb.etke.host They are also the only country that doesn't understand bit/byte so they call them octets or something like that. Ngl that sounds far more intuitive | 14:53:37 |
kdebacon | In reply to @fibby:fyb.etke.host I didn't say that if that's what you're referencing. I wanted to tell you (in my second language) that the heating W/kg of a wave drops off like logarithmic curve. And so distances perceived by humans as small can actually make a big difference. For a specific antenna strength you should still do the math. Inb4 apple pulls a "you're holding the phone wrong" | 14:54:24 |

ModeLockedCat | GOS isn't privacy focused. It's security focused. They make concessions in pursuit of that goal, and Calyx makes security errors in the name privacy. | 15:35:44 |
ModeLockedCat | ...as I understand it | 15:36:13 |
