A basic marketing plan (3-pages) helps to get an overview of your export project by focusing on the product/country pair. It will allow you to better visualize a possible entry strategy, assess the economic viability of the project, assess the entry costs, barriers, timeframe, associated new requirements involved (new skills, new partnerships, new packaging etc). After you've done that basic marketing plan you can decide to get a full marketing plan, which can then go as deep as you wish into the research.
