| koralowiec joined the room. | 10:09:10 |
koralowiec | Hi! Is it possible to use ansible-console with an instance created with molecule? I was trying to find out if molecule creates any temporary inventory file, and pass it as with -i flag to ansible-console , but I couldn't find it | 10:11:23 |
koralowiec | I found out that the inventory is created under ~/.cache/molecule/ directory, each role has separate dir inside, so the full path to the inventory looks like ~/.cache/molecule/<role_name>/<scenario_name>/inventory/ansible_inventory.yml | 10:29:59 |

| rovox joined the room. | 18:41:19 |
rovox | Is there still a way to just test a role? Without the whole collection stuff? I just have a simple role i like to test. | 18:44:50 |
konstruktoid | With molecule | 18:48:06 |
rovox | yes! i would love to ;) | 18:48:24 |
konstruktoid | That's what I use anyway :) | 18:49:14 |
rovox | Could you tell me how? | 18:49:26 |
konstruktoid | docker for quick tests and vagrant/virtualbox for complete system tests | 18:49:56 |
rovox | if i look at this: https://ansible.readthedocs.io/projects/molecule/getting-started/ it only give options with collections | 18:50:15 |
konstruktoid | Just ignore that ;) | 18:50:51 |
konstruktoid | You just need to have a molecule directory and basic files | 18:51:19 |
konstruktoid | https://github.com/konstruktoid/ansible-role-template/tree/main/molecule | 18:52:13 |
konstruktoid | And then run molecule test etc in the top role directory | 18:53:02 |
rovox | Awesome! Let me try that. Thank you very much! | 18:53:26 |
konstruktoid | Glad I could help | 18:54:39 |

rovox | after some more testing yesterday im trying to change the default vagrant provider from virtualbox to vmware fusion (macos) I tried a lot of things like this:
dependency: name: galaxy enabled: true driver: name: vagrant provider_name: vmware
and export VAGRANT_DEFAULT_PROVIDER=vmware_desktop
but molecule doesn't want to change to vmware. Anyone know what i do wrong?

konstruktoid | I belive vsphere, vmware_esxi, virtualbox and libvirt are supported | 11:39:46 |
rovox | changing to libvirt doesn't work either :/ | 11:40:46 |
rovox | it looks like it always takes virtualbox | 11:41:14 |
konstruktoid | Can you publish your code somewhere? | 11:45:51 |
rovox | Sure! The molecule.yml? | 11:47:01 |
konstruktoid | would be great | 11:48:51 |
