martien | Hi subteam^SEBTY1GGL , is Rapid integration with the Tasking Manager on the same level as iD integration? | 20:05:09 |
dk | what do you mean by "same level"? | 20:05:51 |
martien | Eg limit the possibility for new mappers to map certain features. | 20:06:53 |
dk | ah, do you mean does Rapid contain the same new features that iD has updated recently? | 20:07:45 |
dk | from my understanding, for the most part, the two editors have diverged significantly and do not have "feature parity". However, Rapid does regularly pull in changes from iD's codebase to keep up with new developments, as you can see in the changelog. | 20:15:19 |
martien | Rapid (correct me if i am wrong) has a more advanced rendering machine. Such that eg panning around is much smoother. Also the issue with iD where buildings disappear when zoomed out too far is less in Rapid. That can cause mappers to map buildings on top of other buildings.
So to me Rapid is a better choice for HOT than iD.
Are these assumptions correct? | 20:15:37 |
dk | hm, good question | 20:16:26 |

dk | I am not the right person to answer, so I will let my colleagues have their say. Personally I find there are many reasons not to use rapid in certain contexts, like when the prediction data is poor quality or may lead to low-quality mapping | 20:18:01 |
Emi | HOT’s Tasking Manager support both , so you can choose depending on the context | 20:24:37 |
martien | What i remember from statements of the developers is that Rapid is no longer the editor that mainly offers AI datasets.
It is becoming more a regular editor, also for "old skool" mapping types.
But tbh, i don know that for sure. | 20:24:56 |

Taylor Smock | If the problem is the prediction data and/or other datasets, you could just pass datasets= as a URL parameter. If you want to test that out, Project Settings -> METADATA -> Additional iD URL parameters -> add datasets= to the field (if something already exists, prefix it with & ).
Rapid and iD use that field for the extra parameters. | 14:38:50 |

martien | Taylor Smock i am not flagging an issue of some sort here.
What i was trying to figure out was if it is possible to use Rapid without the built-in datasets. By completely toggling off the Rapid features.
And then using it just for manual mapping.
Afaics this is possible. | 10:48:36 |

wisemana | Seems like I'm unable to submit a task? I mapped this one, it just spins when I hit submit https://tasks.hotosm.org/projects/17521/map/?editor=ID#%25252525252525252525252525252525252525252525[…]fined&background=Bing&map=16.00/6.0584/9.8393 | 22:10:59 |

dinar.adiatma | Petya Kangalova I’m sorry if this has been covered already, but are we expected to test up to Team Management section? If that’s the case, where should I report any problems I encounter? I didn’t see a list on GitHub. | 09:45:25 |
manjita pandey | Sorry, We will create an issue on Github stating instruction guide and email you soon. | 10:00:22 |
