Hi! IMO go is a great choice, the standard library is fantastic you can do a huge amount of stuff without pulling In dependencies
mostly our difficulty is with dependencies, environment versions (eg.python), andinteract with compiler/interpreter to run our programs, mapping path or environment variable, handling the xcode ide to run programs etc. cant understand when it give debugg comments and when it says cant find the stored program files... etc. simply said, we need to concentrate on programming, learn logic & problem solving like project euler, instead of struggling with learning ide complexities, yes sure smalltalk is an option,i heard it is practical to build real world applications

@qbit:tapenet.orgqbit Go is pretty well supported by most ides. So that’s nice - it also works really well with plain old text editors 09:24:10
@qbit:tapenet.orgqbitIt’s definitely the language I recommend the most to new people09:24:35

@qbit:tapenet.orgqbitwhich causes a lot of problems 16:44:51
@rkrajhan:matrix.org@rkrajhan:matrix.orgok, interesting, are you using open bsd for everything, mail, browsing web etc.?16:49:06
@qbit:tapenet.orgqbitya, it's my daily driver16:49:28

@rkrajhan:matrix.org@rkrajhan:matrix.org qbit actually interested in bsd and arch linux, currently using mac, once i get coding to an extent, i will use open source os like these 17:09:15

@trilobite17:matrix.orgtrilobite17I asked about VisualWorks Smalltalk on BSD once, a long, long time ago, and was told it should work if run under Linux compatibility mode (probably a library that maps system calls)21:31:14
@qbit:tapenet.orgqbitheh, that isn't a think on OpenBSD21:32:25
@qbit:tapenet.orgqbitno linux compat21:32:26
@qbit:tapenet.orgqbithttps://github.com/aryler/ostoobsd <-- that was working last i tried it - but i never took the time to unwrap it21:33:13
