I think it's over for the instance? Good riddance if so. Cc. zaggynl

Why good riddance tho? It was a really nice instance.

@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlmost people were getting rate limited, also no updates since half a year07:11:43
@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlvideos were broken for a long time07:11:52
@forevernoob:matrix.orgForeverNoobI was still ok with that (minus the rate limiting)07:13:41

I think it’s a mistranslation. You can see him praising the instance just a few messages above

@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlhn, I do miss the old layout but I'm as good as Peter with CSS https://media1.tenor.com/m/YIJSp3mQgxkAAAAd/css-peter.gif08:29:34
@forevernoob:matrix.orgForeverNoobI think even the people who invented CSS struggle with it.08:48:04
@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlhuh, supposedly you can change the layout here https://github.com/redlib-org/redlib/tree/main/templates I might actually try that10:12:35
@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlhad a go a css, it's look slightly more like teddit: https://redlibdev.zaggy.nl/20:56:12
@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynleh, teddit has quite a bit more, better spacing, previews20:58:11
@drjaska:hacklab.fiDr. JaskaHey, I don't think the docker-compose set up instructions mention if the config file is the same as for other install methods or if it's different and located who knows where. Where is it?21:05:44

@reburial5964:envs.netspec (inactive) changed their display name from spec to spec (inactive).03:10:13

zaggynl found eddrit. Wonder which one is best in terms of performance, code quality. Teddit UI is unbeatable thus far, imo.

for teddit?
Yes, teddit's config file
18:16:54
@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlI used docker-compose.override.yml instead of editing the config file19:11:24
@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlthen set the environment variables19:11:32

redlib is fork of libreddit and the only one on that list that mimicks Reddit's mobile app when sending API requests to avoid getting rate limited
11:18:47
@vladimyr:matrix.orgvladimyr When it comes to quality of code it is hard to compare node/express (teddit), rust/hyper (redlib/libreddit) and python/starlette (eddrit) codebases. Since I'm most experienced with node codebases I can say that Teddit's code organization is pretty unusual and differs from one might expect. 11:29:39
@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlthanks vlad, different in what way and positive/negative?15:53:00
@zaggynl:matrix.zaggy.nlzaggynlor just "no code standard"16:01:48
