15:53:06@stoically:matrix.orgstoic almost just right, got it
15:54:54@kitsune:matrix.orgkitsuneThe whole dance with labels, e.g., is pretty flimsy.
15:56:02@kitsune:matrix.orgkitsuneAlso, managing comments is only so much convenient (although proved to be better than comments in Google Docs).
15:56:33@stoically:matrix.orgstoicwhat exactly makes it flimsy? and is there an alternative you might have in mind?
15:57:00@stoically:matrix.orgstoicbecause i feel like tagging/labeling in itself is quite powerful
15:57:24@kitsune:matrix.orgkitsuneAlso, good luck with adding any kind of diagrams to MSCs - basically, you have to do it manually, generate an image file and then refer to it from a Markdown document.

It certainly is but we effectively use it to drive a state machine and that's not what labels are for.
15:59:00@kitsune:matrix.orgkitsuneOn the other hand, having a rigid state machine would mean we'd have to migrate the legacy. Not too fancy either.
15:59:54@stoically:matrix.orgstoicstate machine as in, the workflow a MSC has to go through?
16:00:09@kitsune:matrix.orgkitsuneYes.
16:00:30@travis:t2l.ioTravisRwe could probably be using github projects to drive the state machine instead of a finicky collection of labels.

right, i assume you mean something like is possible in google sheets or plotting in matlab?
16:01:57@kitsune:matrix.orgkitsuneNow that GitHub provides good UI integration between projects and issues/PRs - we probably could, yes.

Personally I'd be happy to see PlantUML integration or something like that.
16:03:25@stoically:matrix.orgstoicinteresting
16:05:02@stoically:matrix.orgstoicthanks for the insights :)

19:23:27@sundancerpete:matrix.orgsundancerpete uhoreg: you said "Files are not deleted yet. Messages are deleted after a delay (they used to be not deleted at all, previously). The delay is so that admins can still look at the messages to investigate abuse " - Are you sure this is true, that messages are deleted? If so, can you please advise how it is done? I see only an option to "Deactivate Account" in my settings.
21:14:14@uhoreg:matrix.org[uhoreg]

There should be an option to delete messages. In Rion web/desktop, if you hover over the message, and click on the "..." menu tha appears on the right, there should be an option in the menu there

10:34:53@sundancerpete:matrix.orgsundancerpeteoh, i didn't realise you meant that. I thought you meant there was the option to request deletion of all messages made under an account
13:54:31@uhoreg:matrix.org[uhoreg]

That too. I think that if you hit the deactivate account button, it will ask if you want to delete all your messages. But I've never tried it, and am not in a position to check right now.

13:55:14@uhoreg:matrix.org[uhoreg]Though, as mentioned before, thes questions are better asked in another room, like #matrix:matrix.org.
