@drbriefs:matrix.orgseanReading the _How to apply_ page, it looks like we have to fill out a form for a project pitch before we can do anything https://seedfund.nsf.gov/apply/ https://seedfund.nsf.gov/project-pitch/16:41:04

@cagonzalez8:matrix.orgCarlos Gonzalez-RiveraSorry I missed lat nights meeting. We had a severe storm on O'ahu and my part of the island got jacked up. At a Starbucks right now lol power is still out in my whole neighborhood. Also, I'm moving back to the mainland on 4 July, so I'll be unavailable while I take care of logistics, and family until possibly 8 July.00:52:10
@drbriefs:matrix.orgsean Carlos Gonzalez-Rivera: If I may ask, what was the nearest waffle house index level? 21:36:31

It was a comment to damien.h where he mentioned a micro-sat project 14 May. I forgot to comment his comment and thereby creating a nice thread... Sorry for the confusion.

Hey, for the moment everything is in French : https://www.federation-openspacemakers.com/fr/participer/projets/adastra/ - Google translate should help.

Currently the big jobs are designing a simulator to make the optimal sizing (OpenRocket is not suitable for an orbital launcher) and making the high level functional analysis. The current planning is to have the subsystems defined by the end of this month.
07:28:08
@damien.h:matrix.orgdamien.hIn parallel, we are increasing the team size and gathering members from all over France.07:28:36
@damien.h:matrix.orgdamien.hWe should have OpenProject integrated in the Federation platform by the end of September, this should make it easier to have a quick overview of on-going tasks and overall planning (looking forward to have a big Gantt for the project ;o).07:29:43
@damien.h:matrix.orgdamien.hAnd we hope to enable multilanguage (not limited to English) by early 2019.07:30:06

Yeah, powering in space, if UFOs are real they use magnets for torque, Nd40's last 90% full flux 1000yrs from mfg, no fuels or other inputs.

The 1-Mw technokontrol machine is sparkless for use with explosives, a 17yr r&d by an explosives safety company with the business case to fund and stick with it.

Nobody will use panels & batteries in space, magnets under load produce wasteheat so output is forever LESS THAN input, entropy, energy is conserved.

As more and more organizations migrate to becoming more Agile, do Gantt charts still have a place? They've been often criticized as assuming too much certainty in a project and very quickly become out-of-date

I'll guess we'll see whether project teams use them or not - in any case we will enable them to use this tool, among others - it will be up to them to determine what is most effective.

I understand you're being sarcastic here - well, happy I could make you laugh 😇

Interesting project! It's going to be exciting to see where it will go! It's a pity its all in French, though Google translate did work quite well.

@cagonzalez8:matrix.orgCarlos Gonzalez-RiveraSorry I've been skipping out on my responsibilities with SD. My work life has yet to stabilize. What's new? Anything important I need to know?20:07:23
@suzi.bianco:matrix.orgsuzi.bianco Yes! I will send out an email tonight, but basically, we are going to start investigating solar sintering, what we can do with it, and what we need to find out before we can decide if we want to use it. Let's experiment with it. 20:11:54
@tmallard:matrix.orgtmallard This was the collectors that are concentrators I found ... 5:42; https://youtu.be/17Kz7N_GbBQ 22:02:07
