I tried to install with npm, but it gave me a lot of warnings...a lot of deprecated dependencies...I'll take a break from this now and get back to learning some more javascript/node/react...
don't worry about warnings for now, focus on getting it working. Do you still have the sha3 error?

From my point of view on the dev side it needs to replace the not working fully decentralized solutions with working centralized solutions.
