Sam Wilson | UTC+8, so exactly 12 hours out of sync! | 00:53:04 |
Sam Wilson | there's no AWDT; we're only ever AWST here | 00:53:24 |
cicalese | Ouch! I do hope you'll be able to join us for at least part of this, but I know it will be difficult. | 01:13:43 |
Bryan Hilderbrand | Ouch indeed! | 01:34:51 |
wolfgang_fahl | https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/EMWCon_Spring_2020 still says there would be a two day hackathon before the conference but i couldn't find any other details. On the other hand the createcamp is mentioned. What's the status here? | 10:23:30 |
rheingoldriver | the hackathon became like 100 times more informal than it would have been at the event - yesterday I worked with yaronk on a cargo project, I'm not sure if anyone else worked on projects. If there's something you want to code, you can post it here. I'm not sure how much structure the create camp will have, but since it was intended to be part of the conference from the start, probably a lot more than the hackathon | 11:16:24 |
cicalese | Yes, the Create Camp will be much more structured. We will have an opening session to decide on and schedule projects as well as a closing session to share out what was done. | 11:19:57 |
cicalese | The pre-conference hackathon was originally conceived this year because a group of us wanted to have a full week to work on projects together. We actually had a lot more people sign up than we expected, so we should definitely try it again in the future. It was always intended to be more informal than the Create Camp, but it became even more so when we transitioned to an online conference. | 11:27:13 |
tgr | rheingoldriver: not sure what exactly you are asking but the list of icons is here: https://doc.wikimedia.org/oojs-ui/master/demos/?page=icons&theme=wikimediaui&direction=ltr&platform=desktop | 11:29:26 |
rheingoldriver | oh i figured it out in the end | 11:29:37 |
rheingoldriver | I wanted just an icon, with an href, rather than a button with an href | 11:29:46 |
rheingoldriver | I got it to work but since icons are forced black without ridiculous css hacks I gave up and used a button anyway | 11:30:11 |
rheingoldriver | i made the font size 80% so the button didn't double the vspace each line took up anymore | 11:30:50 |
tgr | I think LabelIconWidget will work if you don't specify any label | 11:31:46 |
tgr | but yeah CSS-colorable icons are not supported yet so you need to use greyscale that way | 11:32:22 |
rheingoldriver | is that just an echo thing? i got an error when i tried it in cargo, "Class 'OOUI\LabelIconWidget' not found" | 11:42:15 |
| wolfgang_fahl set a profile picture. | 11:45:47 |
tgr | oh, huh, it really is | 12:12:33 |
rheingoldriver | lol, that explains why my thought of, "doesn't echo do this so why can't i" didn't work | 12:13:21 |
tgr | there's an IconWidget in core OOUI though | 12:15:20 |
tgr | so probably that's the thing to use | 12:15:28 |
rheingoldriver | thats what im using in headings | 12:15:35 |
rheingoldriver | but you cant give it an href | 12:15:42 |
rheingoldriver | so i tried putting it inside an a | 12:15:45 |
rheingoldriver | but then there's no indicator that this black image can actually be clicked | 12:16:00 |
rheingoldriver | so i thought it was too confusing | 12:16:03 |
rheingoldriver | the button outline at least makes it obviously clickable | 12:16:10 |
rheingoldriver | would need to be able to style the image to be link color for it to be a reasonable approach i think | 12:16:31 |
rheingoldriver | https://discoursedb.org/wiki/Special:CargoTables this is how it is atm | 12:16:49 |
