@bgtlover:stealthy.clubbgt lover I know many people who'd rather switch to linux than update to 11 15:55:54
@thesparta:matrix.orgthespartaaccording to a random website i found called statcounter windows 7 represents ~2% market share currently, it's been 15 years since it's first release, if that is the reason i think it's reasonable enough to drop it15:56:14
@thezoggy:matrix.orgthezoggythere are plenty of people that dont like windows update policy, but dont realize that other os can do similar. apple has their own quirks about silent updates/trying to force you to update for better or worse. or if you do linux this year alone has been crazy with the amount of kernel updates and high cve patches 15:57:22

unrelated to kodi, but for our own project we looked into dropping python 3.8 ourselves since it went eol last month...

 python3-defaults | 3.11.2-1 | bookworm | source
 python3-defaults | 3.12.6-1 | trixie | source

@bgtlover:stealthy.clubbgt lover well, kernel updates aren't a big deal, one should always have their kernel up to date. It's the software and the rest of the stuff which shouldn't update so often for some people, while they should as often as possible for others 15:59:46

@thezoggy:matrix.orgthezoggy they are if you have to reboot the box/every service to get it to update, which i was just making the point that people that want to die on the hill of not ever rebooting their windows box doesnt solve it by moving to another platform 16:02:14
@bgtlover:stealthy.clubbgt lover ahh, well, you have to reboot if you actually want to use the kernel you just updated to. Otherwise...mine runs for a month already, and I'm on arch 16:06:04

@_slack_teamkodi_U02KR1CPT8W:matrix.orgscott967 Skins use their own definitions for font display. Conversion to actual font / point size is managed via a skin's "font.xml" file, delivered as part of a skin. A typical solution is to create your own local mod of the skin with one of two approaches: 1. replace the actual font ttf file with your own same filename (typically not a good idea unless the font metrics are identical) or 2. create a new fontset /fontset element in the existing font.xml file to reference your new font file. Again, typically you have to tweak the point sizes to get a similar visual appearance. Then you can select your new fontset as an interface/skin/font option. 22:06:01
