I'm currently using a ModMic. It's okay! I do position the mic more to the side than in front but it often picks up my breathing, which results in lots of unwanted "this", "is", "'s", or constant pop-ups of "please say that again". Especially a problem during the hay fever season.15:03:42

@lexicon-code:matrix.orgLexiconCodeWell, I've been through a number of microphones over the years. As always there's variance based on your use case. Currently I'm using https://shop.knowbrainer.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=402&idcategory=6602:25:46
@lexicon-code:matrix.orgLexiconCodeI recognize it's expensive but it's the most comfortable experience and seems to hold up well.02:26:16

@lexicon-code:matrix.orgLexiconCodeThis works really well at filtering out background noise. However, it may be a bit too quiet without a proper DAC02:27:12

My speechware 3 in 1 arrived today. Already noticing the difference with not having my breathing sounds picked up, which is fantastic. The accuracy is a bit off at times in MS Office. Is it worth continuing to apply corrections to my current profile or should I create a new profile and import the words and writing style across?

@lexicon-code:matrix.orgLexiconCodeTo be honest I would say totally try a new profile. In fact, I try to minimize saving to my profile as much as possible.11:15:42

It's very interesting that you say that. What do you mean by "saving to my profile"? Am I applying corrections incorrectly?

Over the years of working with DNS, regardless of version, I've noticed issues with profiles. DNS often wants to tune itself according to your voice. Theoretically, that should be the beneficial and a regular part of use by the end user. However, profile corruption seems to occur where people experience weird issues. At times it expresses itself as dramatically reduced accuracy. This is very over the years but was especially bad with versions 13 and 14. It hasn't been as bad with 15 and 16 so far. So I've gotten into the habit of only saving to my profile when editing, vocabulary or corrections. Occasionally I do tune the model. But I keep it back up just in case accuracy drops.

Of course everybody's experienced might be a little bit different. However, it's the first thing I suggest when people come to the chat here with issues with accuracy.

When migrating to new profile, I export my custom word list and imported into the new profile.

Hello renevague3,

I haven't tried this yet, but was under the impression that it worked already. The Natlink README indicates that it does. Did you run into an error while installing Natlink?

03:44:20
@lexicon-code:matrix.orgLexiconCodeThe readme does mention it but there's not a release yet for DNS 16. I will try to do that this weekend. An individual opened up an issue regarding this and I posted a build there for him temporarily.06:35:24

@renevague3:gitter.imrenevague3Thank you. I asked because Dragon 16 is not listed in the documentation (https://dragonfly2.readthedocs.io/en/stable/) and I can't afford to upgrade my OS if it means losing dragonfly.21:11:10
