@chile09:matrix.orgrolodondo34why?23:47:43
@memorysafetybelike:envs.netBabba27's Evil Twin [ze/hir|she/her|they/them] (Migrated -> @babba27:anonymousplanet.net)Every anti-fingerprinting plugin itself affects your fingerprint. The specific details of what anti-fingerprinting plugins you use, and how you have them configured, can actually be a unique fingerprint in itself23:48:29
@memorysafetybelike:envs.netBabba27's Evil Twin [ze/hir|she/her|they/them] (Migrated -> @babba27:anonymousplanet.net)That's why Tor Browser encourages its users to leave the settings default. Every setting you change, and every plugin you install, gives you a different fingerprint. And in fingerprinting, different = unique23:49:55
@memorysafetybelike:envs.netBabba27's Evil Twin [ze/hir|she/her|they/them] (Migrated -> @babba27:anonymousplanet.net)And unique = identifiable23:50:06
@chile09:matrix.orgrolodondo34si si claro23:52:13
@chile09:matrix.orgrolodondo34unique = entropy?23:52:23
@memorysafetybelike:envs.netBabba27's Evil Twin [ze/hir|she/her|they/them] (Migrated -> @babba27:anonymousplanet.net)Yes. Entropy is the measure of how unique something is23:52:52
@memorysafetybelike:envs.netBabba27's Evil Twin [ze/hir|she/her|they/them] (Migrated -> @babba27:anonymousplanet.net)In fingerprinting, low entropy = not unique. High entropy = very unique23:53:07
@memorysafetybelike:envs.netBabba27's Evil Twin [ze/hir|she/her|they/them] (Migrated -> @babba27:anonymousplanet.net)If you're the only person in the world with a specific browser configuration, that makes you very unique. And therefore very fingerprintable23:53:53
@memorysafetybelike:envs.netBabba27's Evil Twin [ze/hir|she/her|they/them] (Migrated -> @babba27:anonymousplanet.net)You might have a browser configuration which manages to hide every possible fingerprinting data point. But if nobody else does the same, that makes you different23:55:46
@chile09:matrix.orgrolodondo34the point of Tor Browser is that users all have the same config no?23:58:34
@memorysafetybelike:envs.netBabba27's Evil Twin [ze/hir|she/her|they/them] (Migrated -> @babba27:anonymousplanet.net)Yes23:58:49

@type-iix:tchncs.detype-iixI decided against Qubes since I'm not supervillain, when planning out my online coaching, what I was left with on the whiteboard looked like something out of A Beatiful Mind14:06:04

@type-iix:tchncs.detype-iixQubes is conceptually amazing it's just that I'm not in for spy games thrillers playing out in my imagination14:07:20

I believe even Thorin supports both methods of RFP and FPP because you're better off doing that on Firefox, if not just using Tor Browser.

@chile09:matrix.orgrolodondo34you missed biometric and captcha based fingerprinting19:30:33

You don't need to be a supervillain to use Qubes. You just need to take security seriously
