rosa08 | hi guys i'm trying to figure out a way to route Jami (peer to peer video calling software) traffic through i2p. My original appraoch was just to use the http proxy and route it through proxychains, but Jami needs udp packets. I understand there is a udpclient tunnel in i2pd? but i'm not really sure how to use it in this context | 11:19:05 |

FPS DEV GUY (izdihar) | In reply to @rosa08:matrix.org hi guys i'm trying to figure out a way to route Jami (peer to peer video calling software) traffic through i2p. My original appraoch was just to use the http proxy and route it through proxychains, but Jami needs udp packets. I understand there is a udpclient tunnel in i2pd? but i'm not really sure how to use it in this context have you tried it yet with the http proxy? | 03:43:43 |
rosa08 | http proxy cant take udp packets unfortunately | 14:31:30 |
rosa08 | i am also unsure if i2p can actually interface that way with the dht network | 14:31:43 |
rosa08 | without an outproxy | 14:31:52 |
rosa08 | i think i have to host a dht boostrap but i cant work out how to set this up in the i2p network | 14:32:20 |
rosa08 | copypaste from reddit of the approach i used | 14:32:54 |
rosa08 | "
Ok so what i've done is i've set up a bootstrap node using dhtnode -p 1994
Then i've set up an i2pd udpserver tunnel which uses that port. I've then used proxychains jami, using the 4447 socks proxy (this should have UDP?), and changed the boostrap to the base 32 i2p adress i got from tunnel.
The problem is when i change the boostrap, the client crashes and proxychains returns Random chain ... 127.0.0.1:4447 ... 192...*:9080 <--socket error or timeout! (asterix added)
I think this could mean the SOCKS proxy doesn't take udp? or i configured the boostrap node wrong. " | 14:32:56 |

haise | anyone know how to make the i2p java webpage be accessed from another computer on the same network? | 16:04:42 |
haise | I've tried changing stuff in 00-net.i2p.router.web.RouterConsoleRunner-clients.config | 16:05:05 |
haise | but no luck | 16:05:07 |
Philip (a-0) | if you're on linux, you can just use IPtables or nftables to forward the port on the local network IP (e.g. 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x) to the locahost port.
However, depending on what you're using this router for, that sounds like a semi-bad idea, since this port is not meant to be exposed to any network | 16:44:17 |
Philip (a-0) | never turned on authentication for the webUI, if such thing exists you definitely want to enable that before exposing the port in the network | 16:44:40 |

I2P network reliability is currently degraded due to a novel and persistent attack. Please be patient as we work on mitigations. If you have not yet updated to our latest release 2.5.0, please do so as it provides some defenses. | 13:56:30 |
FPS DEV GUY (izdihar) | wait, zzz still active? isn't he in hiding since some times ago??? | 13:57:53 |
mark22k | Yes, but he has apparently been back for some time 🤷‍♂️ However, he no longer operates any services in I2P (as far as I know). | 14:00:12 |
Tremor | He recently resurrected zzz.i2p actually | 15:30:20 |
rathantara | very poor i2p performance these days | 21:13:19 |
rathantara | even on latest version | 21:14:50 |
rathantara | zzz is an active dev | 21:17:19 |
