champange_ | is there rewards for running a validator? | 04:13:09 |
deb_simpier | Hi Flynn,
Thanks for the great questions! I'll flesh this out a bit more, but Althea scales by the use of the payment platform to build applications utilizing machine<#>machine payments, existing carriers and enterprise utilizing the platform to capture additional markets, and by enabling capital to be put to work building new infrastructure or converting legacy systems. So, the approach is to enable the structure for these funnels and then support with a grass roots outreach campaigns supported by local chapters.
Althea has always been a platform tightly interwoven with participation/community/system design and outreach and marketing will take the same approach. | 05:02:18 |

deb_simpier | Participation in Althea as a validator is permissionless. | 05:15:03 |
champange_ | i mean, are there incentives for those who run them? | 06:52:25 |

deb_simpier | The Althea system will initially launch with a tx fee for token stakers set to 10%. Validators in Althea participate in the chain according to standard Cosmos sdk ways. It's not a corporation, no company will pay a validator to participate. Instead a decentralized community has established parameters to award certain inflation and tx rewards for participating to operate the network. | 06:55:20 |

kanan6372 | On mainnet, validators will chosen by team or everyone who has enough native token can be validator? | 09:41:01 |
flynnjameson | sorry took me a lot longer to get to this..I have been reading so much. I'm on winter break from school and i basically never stopped actually researching x,x | 10:03:08 |
flynnjameson | So Althea Net could enable someone to pay another person from device to device. Example; you have a smartphone in your hand. You send $5 in $DAI to me, but you send it to my computer, which has a compatible wallet..
do i understand that correctly? | 10:03:54 |
flynnjameson | machines that don't inherently communicate, normally | 10:04:02 |
flynnjameson | even tho a lot of people do use their phones with their laptop or tablet as a companion device, the payments aspect hasn't really been fleshed out in the fiat world | 10:04:29 |
flynnjameson | kind of like a Stripe but for Machine <#> Machine or M2M Payments? | 10:04:46 |
flynnjameson | I definitely want to be a participant and investor, where should I begin reading? :D I know mainnet token has not launched, but had not seen any concrete details as to tokenomics? | 10:05:30 |
champange_ | thank you! | 13:11:23 |
deb_simpier | Correct, the process for the validator set is permissionless, and the parameters set by governance once the chain is live. The Althea blockchain is decentralized and governed by the community of token stakers. | 13:22:52 |

dmitryown | Hello! I want setup node. Are you planning some rewards in future? | 15:44:36 |
deb_simpier | Validator node? | 15:53:34 |
deb_simpier | For validators again: dmitryown The Althea system will initially launch with a tx fee for token stakers set to 10%. Validators in Althea participate in the chain according to standard Cosmos sdk ways. It's not a corporation, no company will pay a validator to participate. Instead a decentralized community has established parameters to award certain inflation and tx rewards for participating to operate the network. | 15:54:25 |
deb_simpier | Three principles which define blockchain - permisionlessnes (anyone can participate) - decentralized (many disparate entities, geographies. and people make up the blockchain operation) - transparency (actions provide a transparent record open to everyone) | 15:58:42 |
dmitryown | Ok. thanks. Will I benefit your project if I setup node today? I have been studying your documentation and I am interested in your project. | 15:59:09 |
