0xhasher | * This will be amazing, I'm hoping it'll be budget friendly along the lines of the KeyLTE price points since I'm viewing myself as a hobbyist at this point.
Quick one, does Althea support virtual SIM (eSIM)?
BTW
Happy New Year to you and the team.

So this query is volume
https://dune.com/queries/3078165
This query is protocol revenue (fees)
https://dune.com/queries/3078472 | 16:14:43 |
Justin | Althea | both of these are pretty simple queries becuase the on chain infrastructure we're using for Gnosis is pretty simple, more advanced on chain infra where more data is visible is on it's way espeically with Althea L1. The original payment design for the althea routing protocol was intentionally kept as simple as possible and we've focused on building out and stabalizing it for a long time leading up to now. | 16:15:51 |
Justin | Althea | here is our supported routers list https://github.com/althea-net/rita-firmware the list is a little stale if you look at the git history we have a couple of new modesl that aren't in wide distribution yet but I'm looking forward to using. | 16:17:07 |
Justin | Althea | You can think of hacking on home routers as a way to side-step manufacturing, ultimately productions are delivered or shipped to the user ready to use with the Althea firmware. But using existing routers as a base gives us a lot of flexibility to use whatever is lowest cost on the market at any given time. | 16:18:27 |
Justin | Althea | happy to answer any questions I read some of the scrollback, but not all. | 16:18:41 |

proofofsteve | Hi Justin, I am really unfamiliar with Dune and under query results for fees I am only getting one number for September 26th and it's unclear what it's denominated in. are there any reliable published figures I can get for revenues without needing to query Dune? | 05:15:16 |
proofofsteve | Ah okay the area graph is a bit better though the dimensions are odd. Is this denominated in thousands? IE 130 = $130,000? | 05:17:44 |

triggitytron | Is this similar to grass with their browser extension using idle bandwidth? | 14:35:16 |
triggitytron | I’d like to learn more here. Love that it’s open source and is there a token or any way we can participate? | 14:35:38 |
| triggitytron | 14:35:44 |
Justin | Althea | This is protocol revenue and it's in dollars so that's $130 in protocol revenue that day. The other graph is volume which averages $1-2k a day. | 15:13:09 |
Justin | Althea | There aren't any other published numbers. I think this often confuses people because they come in with the expectation that payments will be deeply integrated with the chain. But that's not the case with the althea design the bandwidth sale software is all local and routers are just buying and selling from each other and settling up every so often. So what's on chain is just payments which is more efficient but doesn't reveal as much metadata as people expect. | 15:14:53 |
proofofsteve | Gotcha thx are there any other meaningful sources of revenue for Althea? Router sales, etc. | 18:49:14 |

deb_simpier | Yes, Service, Construction, design and system integration are additional sources of revenue supporting the growth of the Althea platform. Appreciate your patience, but just got back to your email. 🙂 Talk soon! | 22:45:40 |
