You can start using some framework, like Bulma, it helps you to have a consistent looking.

Thanks. I would like to avoid css frameworks for now. Just so I can get the grips on how css works, and what can the technology do. Furthermore, I am much more interested in the user experience than the looks. I've taken a lok at dawdler 's recommended book. Something along those lines is what I was looking for.
