Is there an error in the Ranges encoding slide? I'm having trouble understanding How [2..3, 6..] becomes [2,1,3]... Can I read that as, start at 2, include 1, advance 3, include remainder? The encoding is kind of ambiguous as to how it might continue. What would it look like for [2..3, 6..10, 15..] ?

@cryptoquick:matrix.orgHunter BeastAlso, if you're not doing a DHT, how do you intend to solve for global lookup? For Carbonado we figured we'd just rely on search indexes for that, and each storage provider would update the index via pubsub. If there can be multiple indexes, it's decentralized, if not distributed. We're taking inspiration from the Nostr relay "good enough" model00:15:34
@rklaehn:matrix.orgrklaehnThere will be a spec. It is a unique representation. You alternate between off and on, and the last interval is open.06:57:11
@rklaehn:matrix.orgrklaehnWe are doing a dht. Just trying to get to revenue before that works.06:58:56
@rklaehn:matrix.orgrklaehnFor the first use cases we will do very coarse grained content discovery via centralized indexers.07:00:59
@rklaehn:matrix.orgrklaehn[2,1,3,4,5]07:05:32
@voker57:matrix.orgvoker57DHT: Future plan? So it only works by manual connections for now?15:57:52
@rklaehn:matrix.orgrklaehnYes. Will have central discovery soon, or use ipfs dht. But it is slow.16:30:40

@cryptoquick:matrix.orgHunter BeastNice! I got the hang of it now, thank you. It's read as: Advance 2, include 1, advance 3 (6), include 4 (10), advance 5, include rest. Include-advance pairs, like, you said, off and on.07:02:53
