Then again, what made me do in Ekumenski that you sometimes don't like (admittedly: for reasons that, once upon a time, played a role for me as well) is:
However you make up your phonotactical system, there will always be some folks who are not fine with it.
If anything else fails, it's the native speakers of Japanese or any polynesian language.
In Europe it would be the Italians. Indeed my first conlang had only endings in a vowel or in one of the consonants -s, -n and -d (with the latter lateron changed to -u). Italian was indeed the model I had in mind.
But at some point, especially after discovering Universalglot, I thought "what the heck - Italians will prefer Interlingua or Eurikido anyway."
And this is what gives you the creeps about Ekumenski once in a while, I guess. But as you see, I am aware of the risk and just decided to take it. | 15:25:41 |
