0x1a8510f2 | In reply to @biehdc:reactos.org >Also need to work out p2p <-> non-p2p matrix 'bridging' - shouldn't be nearly as hard as the others i would like to work on that, but i have zero pointers yet on how to get it done in a good way I imagine it should be simple if we figure out something better than full mesh federation. As soon as connectivity between every server in the room isn't required, all that's left to figure out is how to allow servers to have multiple names (both an FQDN and pinecone address) and then any HS in the room supporting both pinecone and the current federation will become a bridge automatically. | 22:03:03 |
ninchuka | I hope matrix gets optimised for massive rooms like HQ more since that could be normal with p2p 😅 | 22:04:21 |

Devon Dmytro | why would massive rooms be more normal on p2p than howit is today? | 22:10:33 |

ninchuka | well instead of a few hundred users on 1 HS it'll be a few hundred HS's | 22:11:31 |
ninchuka | if its kept the same way with ful lmesh | 22:11:48 |
ninchuka | * if its kept the same way with full mesh | 22:11:56 |
Devon Dmytro | ah, massive in terms of HS count. right | 22:12:16 |
ninchuka | yup | 22:12:57 |
ninchuka | should've been more precise | 22:13:03 |
Devon Dmytro | I was thinking you meant in terms of user count being different | 22:13:04 |
0x1a8510f2 | Well, hopefully matrix P2P will bring more users to matrix also :P | 23:16:36 |

Sertonix | It would be nice if every matrix server could be a p2p bridge while being a normal matrix server. I think that would be easier with a new syntax for p2p users. Maybe some character in the name that is forbidden for everyone else. Or just an empty domain name. It would be within the normal syntax but would also mean that there is no server. eg. #username: | 22:42:52 |
saces | maybe a bridge that maps a static endpoint into a matrix room. | 22:56:58 |
