yes, the question still remains and any help appreciated: I still would like to know, why the normal GUI-updater does not update some packages?

Hi tadam_0_0, the "phased release" method for packages lets Ubuntu release new updates into the general population in stages rather than all at once. The packages are tested and the maintainer thinks the updates are good, but the phased release adds a safety net allowing an update to not be published to any more people if something bad does slip through and in the first 10% or 20% of users who receive the updated package, there are problems found that hadn't been picked up by the QA process. So it's not "beta software", like the "unstable" tree in Debian, it's what Ubuntu does for all the package updates for its stable releases. Another way of looking at it is that by the time an update appears in your software updates GUI, you can have confidence that it has successfully been installed by other people over the last few days/weeks and they haven't reported problems with it.

Or, maybe I should have written the short version first: install the updates you see in the GUI. If "apt list --upgradeable" shows you more packages than the GUI, don't worry. They'll probably appear in the GUI in the next few days - and if they don't, it's because something wasn't right and they got pulled.

@tmm627:mozilla.orgtmm627Xorg segfaults and blames vmware video driver. I uninstalled that, but it segfaulted again and blamed something else. I put the vmware driver back, figuring it's not actually the problem and I might need that to work. Probably will ask on the forum or make a bug report when I have time, but thanks for the help15:46:57

@datenzauberer:matrix.orgMichaelWhen unplugging the USB-C charging cable, my laptop with Kubuntu wakes up from sleep mode. This causes the battery to drain unnecessarily. Any ideas how to fix this ? 09:41:56

@jacomobeltran:matrix.orgJacomo BeltranI read something about entering a tty (6, I think) and then typing plasma start command (unfortunately I don't know the exact command), another person installed something to get it to work, but those fixes were on a real machine, not VM. 12:33:51
