bigzolly | Hi hello guys. I hope I am writing to the correct page, as it was quite some time to find it :D
So overall, does anybody here know anything about if a mirror is available or not ?
In our case, in hungary the mirror called hu.archive.ubuntu.com is a canonical mirror, but it is not available for almost a week now. Is it a proper place to threw this info in, or could you guys point me to the direction where could I issue a ticket about this ? | 20:36:23 |
Nils | that hostname is an alias for repo.jztkft.hu | 20:38:20 |
Nils | it is not a mirror operated by canonical | 20:38:32 |
bigzolly | I tried to check it online, but everywhere I saw that it was canonical. Then sorry for disturbing you guys here. :/ | 20:39:11 |
Nils | you could contact https://jztkft.hu/ and ask if the mirror will be back | 20:39:11 |
bigzolly | In reply to @ravage:xentonix.net you could contact https://jztkft.hu/ and ask if the mirror will be back Yes, that's what I will do! Thanks for your help! | 20:39:30 |
Nils | if not that hostname should be changed to another mirror | 20:39:34 |
Nils | or the default mirror of ubuntu | 20:39:43 |
Nils | https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Mirrors#Communication | 20:40:14 |
bigzolly | I switched to another repo, I just thought that it is a canonical, so I wanted to let you know that there are some issues ongoing. However if this is not canonical, then it is up to the jztkft to solve this issue :) | 20:40:52 |
Nils | https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archivemirrors does not even show this mirror i think | 20:41:41 |
Nils | so it should be changed | 20:41:45 |
Nils | http://mirror.niif.hu/ubuntu/ seems fast | 20:42:11 |
Nils | https://rt.ubuntu.com/Ticket/Display.html?id=84578 | 20:46:06 |
Nils | should be visible with an Ubuntu login | 20:46:23 |
bigzolly | In reply to @ravage:xentonix.net https://rt.ubuntu.com/Ticket/Display.html?id=84578 Well, thank you! | 20:47:37 |

Macer | hello. i upgraded from 24.04 to 24.10 and originally used zfs with encryption but i noticed after the upgrade that my encrypted swap isn't working even though it is listed in crypttab and fstab | 01:06:17 |
Macer | on boot i can see it trying to initialize it but it hits the 1.5min timeout and continues on without initializing it | 01:06:33 |
Macer | swapon: cannot open /dev/disk/by-id/dm-uuid-CRYPT-PLAIN-dm_crypt-0: No such file or directory ... so it seems like dm isn't starting up the swap | 01:08:48 |
Macer | ok i think i sorted it out and i think i know what happened although it doesn't make sense. could it be the dm-0 naming after i threw a 'permanent' SD in? i noticed that was acting strangely before but i didn't make the connection until the upgrade and maybe the sd took over the dm-0 name | 01:34:49 |
Macer | i had to edit crypttab and just change the name of it to something else .. but i'm not sure if it will survive a reboot. it seems like it stays stuck during boot trying to initialize swap. | 01:35:16 |
Macer | i was able to fix it manually though. | 01:35:24 |
Macer | or not. this still doesn't work after reboot. | 01:45:52 |
Nils | make sure to update your initramfs after the change | 01:47:32 |
