ahh didn't realize beta.matrix.org was behind mmr, that explains it (it's on EMS, which uses MMR. We also forgot this when we spent a bunch of time making enable_authenticated_media a thing in Synapse, only to find it didn't do anything when we deployed it 🤦♂️) | 16:06:55 |
| TravisR | anyways, matrix.org (non-beta) now has its media freeze in place. There's some slightly non-standard ways we've achieved it, but the general principle remains: authentication is required to download newly uploaded media.
