@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonwe should probably reply to Tamsin too - even if just to say thank you for letting us know, and about all her hard work so far...?16:24:36
@urg-d:matrix.orgurg-dagree16:27:46
@urg-d:matrix.orgurg-dShould also say that the coordinator role should continue.16:31:23
@speedtheplough:matrix.orgspeedtheploughI second that16:36:29
@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonyes, i agree16:44:20
@martyn:matrix.orgmartyni also agree to that. 16:45:15
@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonsomething like: "Dear lawyers Thank you for all your responses. We also appreciate how much work Tamsin has done since this Inquiry started, and how tricky it's been at times. We know that the role of coordinator is not easy, but sincerely hope that one of you is willing to offer your services. We think it's important that it continues..17:14:33
@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondon?17:14:42
@duwaynebrooks:matrix.orgduwaynebrooks It's a bit odd to diminish the role of co-ordinator when resigning. It's a huge role that requires an immense amount of time and dedication. Not only that, it's something that goes on one's CV as an achievement.

Anyway

I think Tamsin should be thanked for her hard work over the past 3 years. I don't think anyone is blaming Tamsin for the decisions of Pitchford or Mitting. If she has that impression I think we need to assure her that, that is not the case.

Whatever is happening between Jane and Tamsin is quite odd. The less said the better I think.

@kimtrapese:disroot.org@kimtrapese:disroot.orghi there, I have added Suresh to this room as he is has asked that we explain why we are asking for a rotating coordinator. Suresh I think if you scroll back through some of the chat here and read the minutes it will become clearer. Also as a note Tamsin as stepped down anyway14:44:54

@urg-d:matrix.orgurg-dConcerned that the letter of acknowledgement will be forgotten, as think it is important that despite differences we remain courteous. Tried to think of something to add to what Carolyn has written, but think that kind of encapsulates it all. Given there has been no other comments, is there any objections to the message being sent out via Spycops Comms group email late sunday or early monday? Cheers, Donal19:30:32

@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondon

i didn't send it yet, and today this email turned up from Shamik: Dear all,

I've been waiting for instructions and am now in a position to reply on
this issue.

Since the meeting on 7 March none of my clients has expressed any
objection to Tamsin continuing as co-ordinator for the group. I would echo
what Ruth has said, it is a difficult and time consuming task which Tamsin
has done well. RLRs other than Tamsin are generally not funded to attend
preliminary hearings - so far - but have either attended (or boycotted)
whenever instructed to do so; being co-ordinator does not place Tamsin's
clients at any advantage and has not disadvantaged any of my clients.

The co-ordinator issue will need to be discussed at a meeting of CPs and
RLRs after the 21 March hearing by which time I anticipate other lawyers
will have taken their own clients instructions.

For the time-being Stafford has asked me to pass on the following with a
request for a discussion after the 21 March hearing:

         ** "As far as the issue concerning Tamsin's representation of

another client is concerned that's a matter for her and her
clients. Working together with other CPs has not been not
plain sailing but as far as I have seen Tamsin has been
doing a good job at holding it all together.

The email from the spycops communication group refers to a "meeting of
CPs" that took place on 20 January. This was not a meeting of all CPs, I
didn't attend. Please could the spycops communication group confirm how
many CPs and lawyers attended the meeting in January where the change of
co-ordinator role was discussed? Please ask them to circulate the minutes
of that meeting including how the decision on rotation and also 2-year
period was arrived at. The only minutes I've seen are of the legal update
meeting where the word "diversity" is mentioned at the end but there's no
context. For them to refer to diversity now, after we have been chastising
them for the lack of diversity for the past 3- 4 years is patronising to
the point of almost being offensive.

There is a difference between a group of CPs (COPS/spycops communications
group etc) expressing a view - which is no problem - and that group
claiming to speak for and communicate with all CPs, which has happened
here and has happened in the past. They are overstepping the mark here. No
group exists that represents/speaks for or can speak to all CPs."**

Shamik

@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonsorry - not sure why that one line went weird.13:48:53
@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonpoints to note: the RLRs have not arranged -or invited us to- a meeting "after the hearing on 21st March - think Stafford is just assuming that there will be one, whereas most of us plan to demonstrate all morning, with a few of the women then going off to meet Jenny Jones in the afternoon.... nobody's said they intend to hang around to meet with lawyers at 4.30 or 5pm13:50:46
@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonour letter didn't claim to "speak for all CPs" - we all know that it is near-impossible to do so13:51:26
@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonbut we haven't come across anyone else opposed to the idea of rotating the coordinator13:51:44
@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonstafford - and suresh, who appears to have joined this forum and left again - have been invited to take part in these meetings, invited to subscribe to email lists, invited to discuss this stuff with other CPs outside of the meetings we have with the RLRs... but don't usually bother13:53:21
@duwaynebrooks:matrix.orgduwaynebrooks Good afternoon. Tamsin has resigned so Shamik's letter is informative but not needed. There seems to be an assumption that Tamsin's work for the group was an issue. Well it isn't and was not.

Rotating the role of co-ordinator is a no brainer.

@riot-bot:matrix.orgRiot-botSorry, I didn't quite get that. Please try again13:57:10
@riot-bot:matrix.orgRiot-botType 'help' for a list of commands, or 'faqs' for a list of frequently asked questions13:57:10
@carolynlondon:matrix.orgcarolynlondonoh yeah, and Tamsin already stepped down, so any discussion had at the lawyers' meeting will need to be about who replaces her in the role.14:06:43
20 Mar 2018
@sarahdawnh:matrix.orgsarahdawnhSo Shamik sent a letter but is not participating in this discussion group? Am I right in that understanding?That makes me uncomfortable thinking CPs are getting angry about our discussions. But how do we organize the CPs when they all aren’t showing up to participate07:55:15
