 wtbarnes | I'm happy to announce the first release of fiasco, a Python interface to the CHIANTI atomic database. fiasco provides an object-oriented interface to the CHIANTI data as well as functions for computing many common derived quantities from said data, such as ionization equilibria and contribution functions.
The GitHub repository can be found here and the documentation can be found here. You can install fiasco from PyPI using pip,
pip install fiasco
Feedback, including bug reports and contributions, is very welcome! Currently, fiasco only supports version 8 of CHIANTI, but work is ongoing to support versions 9 and 10 as well.
