@spongy:one.ems.host | Sending room as a msg was the only way for me to click and accept 🥶 | 08:00:14 |
@spongy:one.ems.host | I made it | 08:00:31 |

@spongy:one.ems.host | I think its the preview thing as opposed to offline ? | 08:05:26 |
@spongy:one.ems.host | Because I see the others | 08:06:03 |
emorrp1 | dunno, I've had that message a lot when joining other server's federated rooms too. There's no difference in configuration between here and e.g. Chamber | 08:09:30 |
@spongy:one.ems.host | Weird. It lists itself as an independent room on Element too | 08:16:07 |
@spongy:one.ems.host | Keep it on ice for now 😅 | 08:17:21 |
emorrp1 | you have to actively join Organisation, from the main space description:
Please join subspaces to avoid https://github.com/vector-im/element-web/issues/17293
| 08:18:29 |
@spongy:one.ems.host | You're spot on. Fixed it | 08:21:08 |
@spongy:one.ems.host | Well it wasn't your server. It was a bad UI pattern that led me a stray | 08:22:51 |

@spongy:one.ems.host | Not a font person but was wondering if there are suggestions for a font based on your favourite? | 07:50:24 |

if we want to further develop the website with just markdown we need to implement at least a script that add html-specific things before/at the end
I ended up making a bash script that inserts at least a style tag at the beginning of documents after markdowning them for my own work
| 04:45:20 |
@ericxdu:matrix.org | I'm still not quite sure I understand the build process at the moment | 04:47:56 |
@ericxdu:matrix.org | Download markup | 04:49:11 |
@ericxdu:matrix.org | This is actually a pretty simple thing to do in BASH, and potentially in Python if needed. Just makes a file with the appropriate headers, and opening tag for body if needed, paste the markdown output, then add the closing tags. | 04:50:22 |
@ericxdu:matrix.org | I've also found ways to get around the need for special tags like <section> to make paragraphs clump together. In case the CSS needs it | 04:51:10 |
@ericxdu:matrix.org | I need it in particular because I develop CSS styles that do things like make paragraphs look like they're being displayed on a crt monitor, and grouping paragraphs together for that is essential | 04:52:10 |
@ericxdu:matrix.org | Sooooo does the markdown at https://git.libregaming.org/LibreGaming/libregaming-website/ get manually parsed and put into https://git.libregaming.org/LibreGaming/libregaming-website/src/branch/public as index.html? | 18:35:13 |
@ericxdu:matrix.org | Sorry I'm slow on the uptake here | 18:35:49 |
emorrp1 | so, the automatic part is that the "public" branch as a whole is automatically deployed to the webroot on the server e.g. you can access https://libregaming.org/LICENSE | 18:43:05 |
emorrp1 | As you say, currently that only involves generating an index.html as described in README.md by running pandoc locally. | 18:46:22 |
