dionisos | Hi 👋 | 11:10:17 |
dionisos | Since some time I can't update Guix, because there is a problem with the qtile package. | 11:10:54 |
dionisos | Do anyone use qtile here ? | 11:11:04 |
dionisos | In the log, I get this error : "ERROR: No matching distribution found for xcffib>=1.4.0"
And indeed it seems the current version on Guix is 0.11.1 | 11:12:19 |
dionisos | I am thinking that maybe there is something not right in my configuration, so if someone can just try to install qtile and tell me if this work or not it would be useful :-) | 11:57:49 |
William | https://ci.guix.gnu.org/search?query=qtile%200.18.1%20spec:master | 12:09:59 |
dionisos | So the package is broken ? | 12:19:11 |
William | Yes | 13:45:40 |
William | I keep a profile where I build last good versions of broken packages | 13:46:26 |
William | So I can remove it from home or system and go on with my updates | 13:46:55 |
William | Or you can wait a bit | 13:47:15 |
dionisos | In reply to @wonko7:matrix.org I keep a profile where I build last good versions of broken packages Is there a place where I can look at how you do it ? | 15:10:39 |

not really, it's just a profile in my config. you could try something like guix time-machine --commit= package install -p zonked qtile | 17:21:59 |

not really, it's just a profile in my config. you could try something like guix time-machine --commit="last green commit on the CI" package install -p zonked qtile | 17:22:34 |
dionisos | Ok, thank you 🙂 | 17:28:23 |

I do, but the only hint you would have found is this https://gitlab.com/wonko7/wonko-mono-config/-/blob/master/guix/wonko.scm?ref_type=heads#L138
and it really wouldn't have helped you much :) | 17:32:49 |

I do! did I mess up a message for it to show? | 17:33:44 |

I do! did I mess up a message for it to show? Yes, when you edit an reply, it breaks the reply (from what I understand, there is someone working on it currently). | 17:39:09 |
