uhoreg | Just noticed that libquotient isn't built with encryption enabled. I guess we need to package libqtolm for that to happen. | 16:27:47 |

Andres | In reply to @hubert:uhoreg.ca Just noticed that libquotient isn't built with encryption enabled. I guess we need to package libqtolm for that to happen. Is libqtolm being maintained? Seems to be as idle as spectral right now | 21:09:02 |

uhoreg | It's just a wrapper around libolm, so I don't think it really needs much maintenance. | 01:14:37 |
uhoreg | andrewsh: I don't know if you saw this: https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse/issues/9187 The next version of Synapse (1.26.0) will depend on psycopg2 >= 2.8, while buster only has 2.7.7. So you'll probably need to upload a new psycopg2 to backports before Synapse 1.26.0 goes into backports. | 02:56:55 |

Debian 10 (buster) and Ubuntu 18.05 (bionic) do not provide a suitable version of psycopg2 in their own repositories
That is, however, an uncommon configuration.
reading that makes me angry

Linda | emphasis on the claim of "uncommon configuration" | 11:40:21 |
Linda | or the other way to put it:
users who rely on Python modules which are globally installed by their distribution's package manager.
That is, however, an uncommon configuration.

uhoreg | It's a buggy gcc. I think they're working on fixing it, so I'll request a binNMU when it gets fixed. | 16:34:21 |
uhoreg | There's already a patch upstream, so they just need to apply it and repackage. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=980429 | 16:37:50 |
kitsune | In reply to @hubert:uhoreg.ca Just noticed that libquotient isn't built with encryption enabled. I guess we need to package libqtolm for that to happen. Please, don’t. E2EE in the current libQuotient is not working. | 19:30:32 |
Andres | glad I didn't rush to package it. procrastination ftw! | 19:31:06 |
kitsune | Andres: Watch the NeoChat room, there’s a rewriting initiative ongoing over olm wrapper in libQuotient. We’ll see how it goes, perhaps 0.7 will get E2EE to some extent, finally. | 19:33:22 |

Pirate Praveen | You can try give back option from https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=nheko | 04:25:41 |

Pirate Praveen | uhoreg I think it would be better to have the mtxclient handled in watch/uscan and gbp.conf see https://wiki.debian.org/Javascript/GroupSourcesTutorial#Update_debian.2Fgbp.conf_and_debian.2Fwatch | 10:39:35 |
Pirate Praveen | for nheko repo | 10:40:02 |
Pirate Praveen | I built nheko using an older gcc-10 from snapshot.debian.org (let me know if anyone want to try this, I can push it to a repo till gcc-10 is fixed in the archive) | 11:54:16 |
Pirate Praveen | currently nheko is missing a dependency on gspreamer nice plugins | 11:54:35 |
Pirate Praveen | it is also missing gstreamer qmlgl plugin for video | 11:55:10 |
Pirate Praveen | also no audio after installing gstreamer nice plugins too - call connects, but system tray does not show the mic is active | 11:56:27 |
Pirate Praveen | pulse volume control says no application is recording audio | 11:57:05 |
Pirate Praveen | I can hear the other person talking but they can't hear me | 12:05:15 |
