A hippie is theoretically a happy person if, being hippie is consistent with his personality.
Yet, -and please correct me if I'm wrong- the hippies movement failed to create an economically functional society.
My point is, it's wonderful if someone find a personal goal that he enjoys to pursue. That we may call personal success. But it's a very flimsy one. Because if his work cannot contribute to the society, he'll be a freeloader and therefore a failure to anyone else.
Not to mention, in my opinion, every healthy human being have a deep desire to be useful to others. So a freeloader cannot be happy. | 09:14:01 |

- Please correct me if I'm wrong here - but my mum was a hippie herself, and my understanding is that the hippy movement was not designed to create a new economy, it was about living a life-style that was away from the traditionally social standard "norms" society had become entrenched in
1960s Social Ideology:
"Men are the bread winners, while the females role is to stay home, look after the children, cook and clean"
