@luke_connor:matrix.org | Once the alpha is out, besides the downloads on the itch.io page, will we make the game downloadable from the website? | 15:18:47 |
orangemn6 | I am making a new website, and the download button will just direct to the releases page | 15:31:19 |
orangemn6 | unless you want a download page | 15:31:28 |
orangemn6 | this is the new website so far: https://elastic-ardinghelli-6039f8.netlify.app/ | 15:34:30 |
orangemn6 | also the background will be different | 15:37:50 |
ThiccGuy69 | And GitHub releases | 17:12:36 |
GrbavaCigla | In reply to @orangemn6:matrix.orgLooks good | 17:13:17 |
orangemn6 | Any suggestions? | 17:15:50 |
GrbavaCigla | Maybe put "Posts" and "About" on header? | 17:16:26 |
GrbavaCigla | I mean, you don't have to, you can do it differently, but it looks kinda weird stacked like this | 17:16:50 |
orangemn6 | I can try, but that would mess uo when you go to the about, it is on the bottom | 17:28:51 |
orangemn6 | also, I need a picture of the map/gameplay area for the background | 17:35:53 |
GrbavaCigla | I think this conversation shouldn't be in "Suggestions" | 17:36:31 |
orangemn6 | ok to the website team room | 17:37:07 |
orangemn6 | https://github.com/NationalSecurityAgency/enigma-simulator/blob/master/MasterEnigmaCracker.ipynb this could be a task | 18:07:29 |
orangemn6 | do you like it? | 18:24:51 |
the2ndreal0 joined the room. | 20:37:11 | |
the2ndreal0 | I think that the way this project is being managed is hurting it. The leader meetings (where very important stuff is talked about) are limited to a select few people, generally those who happened to be here early. This is a problem because:

not done writing, accidentally hit enter, will send more soon | 21:00:20 |
@w4e:matrix.org | i can talk with all of the other leaders about allowing others into the leader meetings, think they would allow iit | 21:03:30 |
@w4e:matrix.org | just talked with them, yes anybody can join and participate in leaders meetings | 21:08:42 |

Solutions:
As zughy said, the project is overly bureaucratic. A project this small doesn't need more than a few key leaders, but we have 8 for some reason. As I said before, the leaders are generally people who got here first instead of people that can really help the project as a whole. I don't know how we should select leaders, but a vote that early in the project was not very good. I think that we only really need one project coordinator (probably micro), a programming lead (not really a leader, but just someone who knows and understands the codebase and is available to help people), and a marketing/branding person to do marketing and branding (talking to journalists, marketing, whatever). I don't think that leaders should have a disproportionate say in the project right now, so these leaders/people would not have more power/authority than a regular Joe, they would just help organize and keep track of stuff. | 21:13:01 |
the2ndreal0 | I personally like solution #2 more than #1 | 21:13:46 |

As I said before, the leaders are generally people who got here first instead of people that can really help the project as a whole (quick edit here, I'm not trying to say that the elected leaders cannot help the project as a whole, just that they weren't selected based on that). I don't know how we should select leaders, but a vote that early in the project was not very good. @w4e:matrix.org | We can definitely try to open up the meetings, but I am personally against 2 | 21:19:50 |
Nice Micro | The problem is, that without proper division of power, everything is just chaos | 21:19:57 |
Nice Micro | I do greatly appreciate your insight though | 21:21:01 |
Nice Micro | Why we have separate game design team and programming team for example is that I don't think it would be ideal if what ends up in the game would depend solely on what some random dude decides to write a code for | 21:22:31 |
the2ndreal0 | I agree that it would be more chaotic, but if we improve the organization of the project (keeping track of what has been decided on) it will be manageable. The project was doing fine before we had leaders after all. | 21:22:57 |
Nice Micro | True, the teams are not functioning efficiently yer | 21:23:16 |
