webel | Well, I was able to log into a different device. So something else is going on regarding my drive. I was able to log in with a different operating system to that same drive moments before. | 17:43:27 |
webel | I again checked; I'm still able to unlock it using the other operating system with the same device. So it does seem to be something in particular about postmarket and how I have encrypted the drive maybe? | 18:13:50 |

webel | I ended up not using encryption as a way to solve this temporarily. But I am thinking that maybe postmarketOS requires more power than the other operating system and that the device, a pinephone beta, doesn't have enough power when the battery is not fully charged, in order to handle the encryption. I also had problems where it would not recognize the USB drive being plugged in to the dock, when the power was at maybe halfway on the internal battery. So the difference between the operating systems is perhaps simply that postmarket required more power and the device internal battery did not have enough power to manage the encryption but the other operating system used less power and therefore was able to manage the encryption. It probably wouldn't have occurred if the battery level was higher or lower, in which case the operating systems may have resulted in similar behavior. | 17:21:51 |

webel | Errors downloading sxmo. The 1207 disappeared from the list, the 1211 check sums didn't match and 1204 file size posted on the download page does not match. | 19:06:37 |
webel | Is this just the right place to post this? Thank you. | 19:07:06 |

napca | https://github.com/FakeShell/batman have anyone used this? how good is battery life with/without it? last time I tried linux on my phone battery life was really bad | 15:25:52 |
bumble深く傷を | I haven't used batman before but from a basic pmos edge installation, my poco f1 gets outstanding battery life | 21:34:56 |
bumble深く傷を | light texting an calls ... the battery lasts about a week before it needs to be recharged. I haven't measured how long the battery lasts exactly, but it is so much better than the pinephone I previously used | 21:36:23 |
bumble深く傷を | mobile data aren't working so possibly the battery is lasting longer without that | 21:37:30 |
napca | I used mobile data and well... my idle battery usage was 1.5W compared to less that 0.5W on android | 21:53:42 |
meo | In reply to @bumblehead:matrix.orgWhat UI do you use? | 21:58:55 |

bumble深く傷を | In reply to@parsarch:tchncs.deI have never really daily driven Android and have always used Ubuntu Touch, UBPorts, Arch Alarm and PmOS | 22:01:17 |
bumble深く傷を | the current PmOS Poco F1 setup I'm using probably gives the best battery life of any previous configuration | 22:02:56 |
bumble深く傷を | pinephone battery life was not great at all | 22:03:35 |
meo | In reply to @parsarch:tchncs.deHow do you get this information on pmos? | 22:06:40 |
napca | should be /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/power_now but I'm not sure. last time I checked there was an app that reported it but idk what app it was | 22:07:52 |
meo | Just used powertop from alpine repo, with SXMO I am around 1.0 to 1.2 in with screen on. | 22:37:27 |
meo | With screen off is tricky, it's not my daily driver and I have currently the issue that the hardware buttons (power/volup/down) are not recognised by SXMO to lock the screen for example. I can see that the power button for example is in principle working with 'evtest /dev/input/event0'. Anyone had that before? | 22:40:31 |
